국문 초록

루마니아인에게 있어 죽음은 삶의 기능을 소진한 생물학적 현상 외에도 인간의 영혼을 거두어가는 신화적, 제의적 의미를 함의한다. '미지의 세계'로부터 '하얀 세계'로 넘어오는 출생이나 겐넵(van Gennep)이 명명한 분리, 전이, 통합으로 구성된 통과의례의 구조를 총체적으로 함유하고 있는 결혼의례와 달리, 죽음은 '하얀 세계'에서 '저 너머의 세계'로 가는 것으로 장례는 산자들을 위한 영원한 분리의식이 되지만, 동시에 망자들의 세계를 위한 통합의식을 함의한다. 죽음의 인식과 수용 그리고 장례와 사후의 관례들이 민속학의 제의적 범주를 구성한다면, 이 제의의 가치와 신화적 실현을 위해서는 텍스트의 구연과 연행의 실체를 필요로 하게 된다. 상장요의 텍스트들은 현상계의 지상과 조상계의 공간에서 펼쳐질 또 다른 삶을 향한 망자의 여정에 대해 들려준다. '여명의 노래'는 주요 루마니아 상장요 중 하나로 인식된다. 과거 태양을 환기했던 것으로 추정되는 '여명의 노래'는 오늘날까지도 가치 있는 다양한 정보를 제공하고 있는데, 다뉴브 강 주변 거주민들의 믿음 속에서 여명은 초자연적 실체로 인식되기도 한다. 또한 루마니아의 대부분 지역에서는 망자의 집 또는 무덤에 단아하게 장식된 전나무를 심는다. 루마니아인에게 전나무는 젊음의 상징이자 생명수의 기능을 한다. 망자의 마을에 전나무가 없을 경우 성대한 제의적 의식을 수반하며 산에서 전나무를 캐오기도 하는데, 이때 상장요 '전나무의 노래'가 연행되어 악령이나 사악한 기운으로부터 보호를 해주는 액막이의 의식으로 연행된다. 그 외 대장정의 신화를 함의한 '위대한 노래' 등 죽음과 관련된 모든 상장요는 루마니아의 민속을 반영하는 척도이며, 동시에 문학 장르에서 가장 오래된 형태 중 하나로 그 가치를 평가받고 있다.

영문 초록

The death for Romanians implies not only the biological phenomenon which exhausted the function of life, but also the mythical and ritualistic meanings related with the human soul. Unlike the 'Birth Rites' which passed from 'the unknown world(lumea necunoscută)' to 'the white world(o lume albă)' or 'Nuptial Rites' which contain generally the structure of passage rites based on van Gennep's work regarding rites of passage: separation, transition and incorporation, the death passes from 'the white world(o lume albă)' to 'the world over there(o lume de dincolo)', and 'Funeral Rites' become the eternal rite of separation for alive men and at the same time, the rite of incorporation in Arallu for dead men. If the awareness and acceptance of the death, funeral and post-funeral rites belong to the ritualistic category of folklore, it needs substances of performance and narration in text for the ritualistic values and the mythical realization. The text of funeral songs incorporate the dead's itinerary of another life which spreads between the phenomenal world of ground and the space of ancestral world. 'Song of Dawn(cântecul zorilor)' is one among these important funeral songs. 'Song of Dawn', guessed as an emblem of sun, offers various folkloric informations up to this day and the 'dawn' is considered as a supernatural substance in habitants' believes around the lower Danube river from the past. Furthermore, Romanians plant the decorated fir tree in dead's house or in the front of the grave in all areas. In general, the fir tree is the symbol of youth having a function of 'life-giving arbor'. If the fir is not in village, people bring it from mountain with sacred rites and then, they perform this song in order to protect from misfortune or ill luck, like the charm against evil influence. All the Romanian funeral songs related with the death, included also 'Great Song(cântecul mare)' which symbolized the 'myth of great itinerary(mitul marii treceri)', are the reflected criterion of Romanian folklore and simultaneously, their value is also highly evaluated in literary genre.
