출판학 분야의 연구 경향과 특성

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 출판학 분야의 연구 경향과 특성이 어떠한지를 규명하는 데 있다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학제 간 및 학자 간 연구가 미약하였다. 출판 관련 연구에서 연구자 간 교류가 확대되는 추세에 있지만 타 분야에 비해 아직 미흡한 수준이다. 둘째, 출판학 분야 연구 관심은 종이매체에서 전자매체로 이동하고 있다. 이러한 전환은 발전지향적인 현상이라고 하겠다. 셋째, 잡지에 대한 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않았다. 잡지 산업이 열악한 이유들을 체계적으로 검토하고, 잡지 산업을 활성화시킬 방안을 모색하여야 할 것이다. 넷째, 연구주제가 미시적 차원에서 설정되었다. 즉 출판학 관련 연구들은 출판 메시지, 출판 산업 등에 관심을 집중하였다. 향후 연구자들은 거시적 연구를 수행하여야 할 것이다. 다섯째, 출판학 연구는 방법론상 획일성을 안고 있다. 향후 이 분야 연구자들은 다양한 방법론을 활용하여 연구를 수행하여야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the trend and characteristic shown in publication researches. The analysis showed the following outcomes. First, Interdisciplinary or joint works were very scant. In recent years, the number of these types of works have increased, but it is still relatively scant compared to other academic fields. Second, the research concern of publication field has under went the process of shifting from the paper media to the electronic media. This shift can be evaluated as a desirable one, in the sense that it is more directed toward the development. Third, researches on the magazine have rarely conducted. Researchers are recommended to examine a wide spectrum of factors leading to the downturn of magazine industry, and find out alternative strategies needed to its upturn. Fourth, most of research topics were related with micro-issues. In other words, they focused such issues as publication messages, publication methods, and others. Researchers are recommended to pay more attention to macro-issues. Finally, the research methodologies applied in the researches have been very limited. The application of diversified methodologies would help researchers widen their understanding of the field.
