예술이론의 수용적 해석학습과정에 나타난 의미의 "구체화"에 관한 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 평생교육의 맥락에서 그 영향력과 전문화가 심화되고 있는 문화예술강좌에 참여한 학습자들에 주목하여, 예술이론의 수용적 해석학습과정에서 나타난 의미의 "구체화" 과정을 (1) 프로그램의 진입단계; (2) 예술 안으로 들어가기; (3) 예술이론으로부터 나오기라는 3단계를 통하여 설명하려고 시도하였다. 그 결과 예술세계의 질문을 매개로 학습자들은 예술현상의 심화된 맥락으로 들어서게 되며, 학습자들의 경험과 활동은 이론적 지식의 차원, 문화적 차원, 학습활동을 통한 경험의 차원이 복합적으로 연결되면서 고양되어 간다. 예술은 하나의 사회적 경험의 형태로 존재하며, 이를 수용하는 학습자의 경우 예술작품을 학습하는 일은 그 내부적 관점이 자신의 개인사적 경험과 섞이는 과정으로 귀결될 수밖에 없다. 여기서 이론은 분명히 내가 예술에 다가가기 위한 필수 과정이지만, 거기에만 머무는 것이 아니라 내가 온전히 그 예술의 세계를 전유하고 다시 내 경험의 세계로 끌어내기 위한 매개적 단계였다. 그 단계로 온전히 들어가기 위해서는 질문하고 관계짓고 내 경험의 색깔을 입히고 담론화하는 주체적 변형의 과정이 필요하였으며, 이를 통해 예술을 바라보는 양자적 관점 즉, 비평의 관점과 감상의 능력이 확장되었다. 관련 경험을 활성화하면서 학습자는 한편으로는 예술의 세계 안에 자신의 의미세계를 설정할 공간을 확보할 뿐더러, 다른 한편에서는 자신의 경험세계 안에 예술적 공간을 확보하는 계기를 만들어나가게 된다.

영문 초록

This research attempted to explain the reciprocal interchanging phenomena between learner's experience and the theories as text, which are revealed at the receptive-interpretative learning processes of the participants who took in the art theory courses at a university affiliated lifelong learning center. The authors tried to explain the process in 4 steps: (1) entry into the program; (2) Being a part of the theory; (3) Separating from the theory. The authors found in this research that art resides in human minds as a form of social experience, where the work of learning the theory inevitably mediates and negotiates my own experience and the body of theories. Theory, at this moment, is not only a process of further understanding of the world of the art, but also derives my unrelated experiences into the open space where I have opportunities to apprehend the world in one's mind. The "concretization process" of meaning is a necessary procedure in this moment, that the research has found out, to question the world, to relate the world, and to put the color of one's own experiences. In this process, learners can build their meaning perspectives in the world of art, as well as construct the art structure in their own experiential world.
