국문 초록

본 연구는 시간의 특성에 주목할 때 드러나는 교육의 체험 양상을 탐구하는 것에 주목적을 둔다. 본 연구의 참조점으로 Gadamer의 해석학적 개념인 "시간성"(temporality)에 주목한다. 그는 시간 체험의 보편성과 개별성을 인정하며, 인간이 시간의 주재자가 아님을 주장한다. 또한 피할 수 없는 과거의 지속적인 영향을 중시하면서 시간의 질적 통합을 논의한다. Gadamer의 해석학을 교육연구에 참조점으로 활용한 근거는 현존재와 교육하는 인간, 그리고 해석의 과정과 교육의 유사성에서 찾을 수 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 Gadamer의 시간성을 교육적으로 재해석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육은 유한성의 당사자적 체험을 가져온다. 둘째, 교육은 순환적인 선입견 갱신의 체험을 가져온다.

영문 초록

This paper investigates the nature of educational experience focusing on the qualitative characteristics of temporality. Gadamer's hermeneutic concept of "temporality" was used as a conceptual framework for reference in the investigation. This paper discusses the relation between Gadamer's hermeneutics and education based on the premises that: 1) both hermeneutics and education are related to understanding of human being, 2) the renewal of circular question in the hermenutical interpretation process is similar to the process of education. Gadamer acknowledged the universality and individuality of temporal experience and thus asserted that human being was not the owner or possessor of time. Paying an attention to the continuous influence of the past, he discussed the qualitative integration of time. In conclusion, this paper analyzed the experiential characteristics of education in temporality and found that education brought: 1) finite experiences to the subjects, 2) experiences for renewing their prejudices.
