국문 초록

교실에서 이루어지는 교사에 의한 학생평가는 학생들의 무엇을 배우고 있고 얼마나 잘 배우고 있는지를 파악하기 위한 접근이다. 학생평가가 제대로 수행되기 위해서는 무엇보다 먼저 교사들이 학습을 촉진할 수 있는 수업과 학생평가의 특성을 심층적으로 이해하고 실천할 수 있어야 할 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 학생의 학습을 돕고 개선을 촉진할 수 있는 학생평가의 특성에 대한 교사들의 인식과 실천 정도, 학생평가의 개선을 위한 노력 정도 등을 분석해 보았다. 연구결과, 교사들의 학생평가의 특성에 대한 이해수준은 비교적 높았으나 이해하고 있는 것만큼 실천으로 옮기고 있지는 못한 것으로 분석되었으며, 수업운영전략으로의 평가 활용, 학습의 자율권 및 자기평가의 기회제공, 평가결과에 대한 의사소통 등에 대해서는 개선 노력이 필요한 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구결과는 교사의 학생평가 전문성을 제고하기 위한 연수프로그램의 개발과 체계적인 전문성 신장을 위한 정책 방안의 모색에 시사점을 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

A substantial proportion of teacher's time is devoted to activities which involve evaluation of student products and behavior, and evaluation by teacher has powerful direct and indirect impact on student's learning. Therefore, particular attention should be given to teacher's professional qualifications on student assessment. If teachers wish to improve their assessment and instructional practice, they should examine the underlying cognitions that inspire these practices. The purpose of this study is to examine teacher's cognitions and implementation on student assessment, and whether the cognitions or implementation differ by school level or teacher's carrier. The results show that most teachers deeply understand the characteristics and role of student assessment, but most also admit that they are rarely implemented as well as they understand. There are mismatches between teacher's cognition and implementation. The results of this study yield a set of implications that can be applied in teachers' professional development programs and student assessment policy.
