국회 경호공무원과 민간경비원의 조직몰입에 대한 영향요인 비교연구

국문 초록

민간경비는 공경비와 더불어 사회전반의 치안을 담당하는 매우 중요한 역할을 수행하고 있다. 그러나 지금까지 공경비와 민간경비를 비교하는 연구가 거의 없었으므로 본 연구는 국회 경호공무원과 민간경비원을 대상으로 조직특성과 직무스트레스가 조직몰입에 미치는 영향을 비교분석하여 공경비와 민간경비의 특성을 보다 잘 이해하고 각각의 조직에서 구성원의 만족과 조직성과를 향상시킬 수 있는 이론적 토대가 되고자 하였다. 국회 경호공무원은 경위와 방호원 총 145명을 대상으로 설문조사하였고, 민간경비원은 서울ㆍ경기지역 경비업체에 종사하는 일반경비원 203명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 수집된 자료는 사회과학통계패키지(PASW 21.0)를 사용하여 분석하였고 각 변수들의 상관관계와 인과관계는 상관분석과 회귀분석을 통해 확인하였다. 연구결과, 국회 경호공무원에게는 조직특성이 조직몰입에 보다 큰 영향을 미쳤으나, 민간경비원은 조직특성보다는 직무스트레스가 조직몰입에 보다 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 이는 국회 경호공무원에게는 직위구조의 조직화, 보상의 공정성과 조직 자율성 확보, 조직지원 확대 등을 통해 조직몰입의 정도를 향상시킬 수 있지만, 민간경비원은 개인이 받는 직무스트레스에 초점을 맞추어야 조직몰입의 향상을 꾀할 수 있다는 것을 의미한다.

영문 초록

The private security sector performs many responsibilities to ensure the overall security in our society along with public security; however, despite the its importance, few studies have compared the two types of security. Therefore, in this study, the author(s) investigated how organizational characteristics and job stress shaped the organizational commitment among the security officials at the National Assembly of South Korea and private security officers. Also, with the basis on the results of the study, the author(s) aimed to understand the unique characteristics of each security type and provide a theoretical foundation for improving the job satisfaction of the security workers as well as the organizational performance. Two surveys were conducted for this research: One with 145 security employees at the National Assembly and the other with 203 private security officers in Seoul and Gyeonggi province in South Korea. The results of the correlation and regression analyses indicated that organizational characteristics were significantly associated with organizational commitment among the security officials at the National Assembly. On the other hand, job stress was found to affect the organizational commitment of private security officers. Therefore, the organizational commitment of the National Assembly security officials is expected to improve through changes including, systematization of the rank structure, fairness in compensation, increased autonomy, and expansion of organizational support. Furthermore, the levels of private security officers' commitment to their organizations could increase by helping to minimize and relieve individual officer's stress.
