초등학교 영재교육대상자 선발을 위해 도입된 교사 관찰ㆍ추천제에 대한 교사와 학부모의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 영재교육대상자를 선발하기 위하여 도입된 교사 관찰ㆍ추천제에 대한 교사와 학부모의 인식을 분석하고, 새로운 제도에 효용성과 바람직한 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 강원도 W시에 거주하고 있는 15개 초등학교 학생들 중 영재교육대상자로 지원한 학생의 학부모 112명과 이 학생들을 관찰하고 추천한 교사 108명을 대상으로 설문지 조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 선발방식 변화에 대한 교사와 학부모의 인지도에 있어서는 모두 바뀐 선발방식 변화에 대하여 잘 알고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 관찰ㆍ추천 방법의 신뢰성 및 타당성에 대한 인식 조사를 한 결과, 학부모가 교사보다 관찰ㆍ추천 방법을 더 타당하고 신뢰할 수 있다고 여기고 있었다. 셋째, 관찰ㆍ추천 방법을 적용하기 위한 준비성에 대한 인식 조사를 한 결과, 영재의 일반적 특성과 영재와 영재교육대상자의 차이에 관해 잘 알고 있었으며 영재성과 영재교육대상자의 관찰점, 학교 성적과 영재성의 연관 정도, 지원 과목 이외의 내용과 영재성의 연관 정도에서 교사와 학부모는 조금씩 의견 차이를 보였다. 넷째, GED(영재교육종합데이터베이스) 활용 방법에 대한 인식 조사를 한 결과, GED 시스템을 활용한 선발과 사용법, 체크리스트의 내용은 교사와 학부모 모두 조금씩 의견 차이를 보였지만 체크리스트의 각 항목별 문항의 개수가 너무 많다는 의견을 보였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the reaction from the teachers and the parents regarding the new system for selecting gifted students. In order to complete the study we conducted a survey of 112 parents who applied their children for the candidate of the gifted education and 108 teachers who observed and recommended these students out of 15 primary schools in W city. The outcome of the survey is as follows. First, the survey showed that both of the teachers and the parents are well aware of the changes to the selection system, but they had different ideas and opinion on the documents for submission and the process of selecting criteria. Second, according to the survey about recognition of validity and reliability of observing and recommending method for the new system, the parents and the teachers showed obvious differences in opinion. As in overall, more parents believe the new method is more appropriate and reliable than the teachers. Third, for the survey regarding the readiness in order to implement the new observing and recommending method, both parties are well aware of the general characteristic of gifted students and the difference between the gifted students and the students who are subject to a gifted education. Last, for the survey on the awareness of utilizing GED, both parties showed different opinions in relation to the contents of checklist and the identification process using GED system however, they both agreed that there were too many individual questions in each section on the checklist.
