국문 초록

여러 진료 분야에서 대체의학 도입은 찬반의 논쟁을 벗어나 이제는 현실이 되었다. 세계 여러 나라와 국내에서도 마찬가지로 대체의학을 찾는 환자들의 수가 급속히 증가하고 있어 이러한 대체 진료 현장 출현은 세계 추세에 맞추어 간다고도 할 수 있다. 우리나라에 있어 대체의학의 발전을 위해서는, 대체의학과 대체의학 산업의규모나 이용 경로 등을 파악하고, 대체요법의 바른 사용을 위해 의료인력 종사자들 및 일반국민들에 대해 대체요법에 대한 올바른 교육이 이루어져야 할 것이다. 먼저 대체요법에 대한 학문적 검토 및 연구를 통해, 대체요법에 대한 의료행위 기준을 마련하고, 대체요법에 대한 의료인의 역할 및 제도권 수용여부를 결정할 수 있도록 의료자문 및 연구 활동 등을 통해 정비하는 등의 방안을 마련해야 할 것이다. 또한 정규교육기관에서교육을 받은 대체의학 관련 전공자들의 사회진출 마련을 위해 합리적인 제도가 마련되어야 할 것으로 사려 된다. 구체적으로 대체의학의 발전 전략 방향을 보면 대체의학의 세계 표준 선도 및 선점을 위한 범부처 차원의 표준화 대응 협의체 마련 및 전담기구를 설립과 지원이 무엇보다 우선해야 할 것이다. 따라서 제도권의료의 폭을 넓히는 많은 과학적 연구과 다양한 인술의 지혜를 얻는 연구 발상의 전환이 필요한 때이다. 이제는 한 가지 치료 방법에서 벗어나 고도의 기술을 여러 측면에서 접근하게 하는 Integrated Medicine (융합, 통합의학)이라는 적극적 개념이 제시되고 있는 현대의학 특징의 한 축이 바로 대체의학이기 때문이다.
