국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 음성장애 성악인을 대상으로 최근 개발되어 보고된 Singing Voice Handicap Index (SVHI)를 한국어로 번안하고, 신뢰도 및 타당도를 검증하여 이를 국내 음성장애 치료의 임상현장과 연구에 사용하는 것이 적합한지를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 방법: 한국어로 번안하여 내용 타당도를 거친 K-SVHI와 Iowa Patient’s Voice Index (IPVI) 1번 문항, Voice Handicap Index (VHI)를 설문지로 제공한 후 결과를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 대상자는 총 120명으로 일반 성악인 90명과 음성장애 성악인 40명이다. 일반 성악인 집단은 성악전공 대학생 30명, 합창단원 30명, 연주가 30명으로 구성되었다. 결과: 1) 음성장애 성악인의 K-SVHI 총점의 평균이 일반 성악인의 KSVHI 총점의 평균에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다. 2) 세 개의 일반 성악인 집단, 즉 성악전공대학생, 합창단원, 연주가 집단을 대상으로 K-SVHI 총점에 대한 차이를 연구한 결과, 그룹 간 유의한 차이를 보였다. 성악전공 대학생들이 가장 높은 점수를 보였고 다음으로는 합창단원 및 연주가 순서였다. 3) 한국어로 번안된 K-SVHI는 내용 타당도를 거쳐 신뢰도 및 타당도 면에서 유의한 측정도구임이 밝혀졌다. 논의 및 결론: K-SVHI가 음성장애 성악인이 자신의 음성 문제를 인식하게 하며 일반 성악인과 비교하여 변별력 있게 평가할수 있는 도구라는 사실을 입증 해 주었다. 또한 K-SVHI가 음성장애 심리측정적 평가도구로 신뢰도 및 타당도가 있음을 밝혔다.

영문 초록

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to generate a Korean version of the Singing Voice Handicap Index (K-SVHI) and to test whether application of the K-SVHI would be plausible for patients with voice disorders. Methods: Subjects who participated in the study were 130 vocalists, including 90 normal and 40 dysphonic vocalists. The group of normal vocalists consisted of 30 students majoring in vocal music, 30 members of the chorus and 30 performing musicians. The Korean version of SVHI was translated into Korean from the English version. Three different types of rating tools were used to document the subject’s perception of the handicap of Korean vocalists: the first item of Iowa Patient’s Voice Index (IPVI), VHI and K-SVHI. Internal consistency reliability, test-retest reliability and concurrent validity were assessed as well as group differences. Results: The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1) There was a high internal consistency between items of K-SVHI. Test-retest reliability was extremely high. With regards to the concurrent validity, Spearman correlation between the K-SVHI and IPVI’s first item was high in the dysphonic vocalists group. 2) Dysphonic vocalists had higher K-SVHI scores compared to normal vocalists. 3) Three normal vocalist groups showed significant differences from each other when analyzed with the ANOVA. Students majoring in vocal music received significantly higher scores than members of the chorus, and members of the chorus had higher scores than the performing musicians. Conclusion: The K-SVHI seems to be a useful psychometric instrument for assessing the voice handicap of Korean vocalists with voice problems.
