국문 초록

본 연구는 다문화가정 방문지도사 중 부모교육지도사들이 다문화가정을 방문하여 서비스를 실천하면서 겪는 경험의 의미가 무엇인지를 탐색하고자 하는 목적에서 이루어졌다. 이러한 연구목적을 위해 다문화가정 방문교육 서비스를 실천하고 있는 부모교육지도사들과 면담을 실시하여 자료를 수집하였으며 이를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모교육지도사들은 다문화가정방문 경험에서 희망을 여는 노력과 실천으로 기쁨과 보람을 느끼고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이들은 다문화가정의 결혼이주민 여성들이 자신감을 가지고 자신의 삶에 대한 변화를 위해 노력하려는 의지를 보일 때나 희망을 주는 존재로서 느껴질 때 부모교육지도사로서 의미를 가지는 것으로 보여졌다. 둘째, 부모교육지도사들은 다문화가정의 결혼이주민 여성이 가족 구성원 및 친구, 세상과 교류하고 소통할 수 있는 통로가 되어줄 뿐 만 아니라 답답함을 토로하고 이해해 줄 수 있는 공감의 대상으로서 존재하고자 함을 알 수 있었다. 다문화가정의 가족구성원과 결혼이주여성 간의 중재 역할을 통해 불통의 간격을 좁히고 서로를 이해할 수 있는 소통의 통로가 됨으로써 결혼이주여성들이 한국 사회에서 자신감 있게 적응할 수 있도록 지원하는 부모교육지도사들의 역할은 결혼이주여성들의 신속한 적응에 도움이 되는 일이라 생각된다. 셋째, 다문화가정 부모교육지도사들은 방문지도 경험을 통해서 다문화가정과 결혼이주여성에 대한 인식이 긍정적으로 변화되었다는 점에서 의미를 찾고있음을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 부모교육지도사들은 결혼이주여성들은 어렵고 힘들고 약한 존재로 그들을 도와야 한다는 마음에서 출발하였지만 방문지도를 하면서 우리도 누군가에게는 다문화가족으로 인식될 수 있으며 일방적으로 가르쳐야 하는 존재가 아니라 우리가 배워야 하는 존재로 결혼이주여성을 인식해야 한다는 생각을 가지게 되었음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate what meanings parent education trainers, among visit instructors for multicultural families, impart on their experiences from providing services during home visits to multicultural families. To this end, parent education trainers who are practicing multicultural family visiting training were interviewed for data collection. Findings drawn from the collected data were as follows. First, it was found that parent education trainers feel happy and proud about their effort and practice in providing hope to their clients through their home visiting experiences to multicultural families. Parent education trainers find their role meaningful when they feel they are giving hope to their clients or when married immigrant women in multicultural families show the will to make efforts to change their lives with confidence. Second, it was found that parent education trainers want to serve as channels for married immigrant women in multicultural families to help them interact and communicate with their family members, friends and the world, and also be empathetic and understanding listeners to whom their clients can reveal their frustrations. Parent education trainers believe that their role of helping married immigrant women confidently adapt to the Korean society through playing the part of mediators between married immigrant women and their family members and becoming a communication channel that reduces communication gap and fosters understanding among the members in multicultural families is beneficial for their clients' quick adaptation. Third, it was found that parent education trainers for multicultural families find it meaningful that their perceptions about multicultural families and married immigrant women positively changed through their home visiting experiences. In other words, parent education trainers began their practice with the approach that they should help married immigrant women who are difficult, hard to deal with, and weak, However, through home visiting, they were able to realize that they themselves could be seen as multicultural families by others and that they should change the way they think about married immigrant women; from people that must be unilaterally taught to people from whom we should learn.
