청소녀의 가출 및 성매매 경험에 영향을 미치는 보호요인과 위험요인

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 여자청소년을 대상으로 가출과 성매매 경험여부를 확인하고, 어떤 보호요인과 위험요인 때문에 청소녀들이 가출과 성매매를 중첩해서 경험하게 되는지를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 서울에 거주하는 14세이상 19세미만의 여자청소년 960명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하고, 다항로짓모형을 적용하여 분석을 하였다. 그 결과 먼저 ‘가출한 청소녀’와 ‘일반 청소녀’를 구분하는 보호요인은 사회유능감, 자기존중감, 부모감독, 교사지지로 나타났고, 위험요인으로는 가출 전 피해경험, 가출 전 비행경험, 가정방임, 주변의 성매매경험자 수가 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다. 다시 말해서, 사회유능감이 낮을수록, 부모의 감독이 낮을수록, 부모의 자녀에 대한 방임수준이 높을수록, 교사로부터 위로와 격려를 덜 받는다고 느낄수록, 주변에 성매매를 경험한 선배나 친구가 많을수록, 그리고 피해는 덜 당하면서 비행은 많이 저지를수록 가출을 경험할 가능성이 높았다. 둘째로 ‘가출한 청소녀’와 ‘가출과 성매매를 모두 경험한 청소녀’를 구분하는 위험요인은 성폭행 피해경험, 가출전 피해경험, 주변의 성매매경험자 수로 나타났다. 즉, 성폭행을 당한 경험이 있을수록, 가출 전에 피해경험이 많을수록, 주변에 성매매를 하는 친구나 선배가 많을수록 가출과 성매매를 동시에 경험할 가능성이 높았다. 특히 주목해야 할 것은 가출전 피해경험과 주변의 성매매자 수는 ‘가출만 경험한 청소녀’와 ‘가출과 성매매를 모두 경험한 청소녀’ 모두 공통적으로 영향을 미치는 위험요인인 반면, ‘성폭행 피해경험’은 유일하게 청소녀의 성매매에 영향을 미치는 요인이라는 사실이다. 이 연구에서는 이 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 청소녀의 성매매를 줄이기 위한 학교와 지역사회의 예방대책을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to identify whether female adolescents has experienced runaway and prostitution and exams what protection and risk factors could affect them to involve in female student’s prostitution through the empirical research. We collected the data which are 960 cases of female teenagers between 14 and 19 years old who lived in Seoul. We use to analyse the data with multilogit model. The results show that while the protection factors which distinguish runaway teenagers and ordinary ones are social efficacy, self-esteem, parental monitoring, and support from teachers, the risk factors are violent victimizations in their schools, nonintervention of parents, and the number of persons who have experienced prostitution around one. It means that the probability of runaway and prostitution is getting lower as one’s social efficacy is higher, parental monitoring is higher, nonintervention of parents is lower, feeling of support from teachers is higher, the number of persons experiencing a prostitution around one is lower. Second, this research shows that significant factors distinguishing runaway female teenagers and teenaged girls who experienced both runaway and prostitution are rape victimization, violent victimizations in their schools, and the number of persons who have experienced prostitution around one. It means that female teenagers are more likely to experience both runaway and prostitution when they have been victimized from rape and other types of crimes and have the number of persons experiencing prostitution. In specific, it is worth to note that violent victimization in the schools and the number of persons who have experienced prostitution around one influence teenaged girls who experienced runaway as well the ones who experienced both runaway and prostitution, while rape victimization only influences on teenaged girls who experienced both runaway and prostitution. Based on the results from this study, we suggests the prevention strategies from the schools and the communities to reduce female adolescents’ prostitution.
