국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 청소년이 문제행동을 일으키는 다양한 원인 중에서 가장 큰 영향을 미친다고 알려져 있는 가정환경적 요인 중 가정폭력에 대한 노출경험이 청소년의 문제행동에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 그 과정에서 청소년 개인의 특성이라 할 수 있는 자기통제력이 매개효과를 가지는지 알아보아 청소년의 문제행동 완화에 대한 방안의 하나로서 가정폭력에 대한 개입의 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다. 연구의 목적 달성을 위해 ‘한국 청소년 패널’의 초등학교 4학년, 1~5차년도 자료를 이용하였고, 5차년도 조사에 응 했던 중학교 2학년에 재학중인 남, 여 청소년 2448명을 최종 분석 대상으로 삼았다. 응답자의 문제행동 및 가정폭력 노출 실태를 파악하기 위해 각 변인들의 빈도분석 및 기술통계를 실시하였고 연구 모형검증을 위해 바론과 케니의 매개효과 검증방법을 토대로 위계적 회귀분석(hierarchical regression)을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 가정폭력 노출경험은 청소년의 문제행동과 정적인 관계에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그와 동시에 청소년의 자기통제력에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 가정폭력 노출경험이 청소년의 문제행동에 미치는 영향에 있어서 자기통제력의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 자기통제력은 완전매개효과를 가지는 것으로 드러났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 가정폭력에 대한 개입과 청소년의 자기통제력 향상시킬 수 있도록 지원이 필요하다는 정책적, 실천적 함의를 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of exposure to domestic violence among adolescents on their behavior problems. In addition, mediation effect of self-control was examined. Based on the results, the necessity for intervention in domestic violence as a way to mitigate teenagers' problematic behaviors was suggested. For the purpose, the Korean Youth Panel Study(KYPS)'s 1st~5th years of panel data was utilized. The subjects of the study were 2448 male and female students who were traced in the 5th year's data collection. These students were engaged in the second year of middle-school. To see the actual condition of participants' exposure to domestic violence as well as behavior problems, frequency analysis and descriptive statistics were used. To verify research models, hierarchical regression was conducted. Crucial findings are as follows; Exposure to family violence was significantly associated with teenagers' behavior problems. At the same time, exposure to domestic violence was significantly associated with lower level of self-control. In the relationship between adolescents' experiences of domestic violence and their problematic behaviors, self-control worked as a complete mediator. That means, exposure to domestic violence does not affect behavior problems directly. Rather, exposure to family violence affects deviant behaviors indirectly via lower level of self-control. From these findings, the necessities for intervention in domestic violence and offering training for self-control to adolescents were suggested.
