국제결혼 이주여성 한부모가정에 관한 고찰

국문 초록

오늘날 국제결혼 이주여성이 지속적으로 증가하는 만큼 그들의 이혼율 또한 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 이는 심각한 사회문제로 대두되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국제결혼 이주여성의 이혼에 대해 현재까지 진행되어온 연구들을 분석하여, 국제결혼 이주여성에 대한 이론적 고찰과 이혼을 야기 시키는 원인 및 이혼 후의 어려움에 대해 알아보고, 이혼을 예방할 수 있는 대책과 정책적 제언에 대해 검토하고자 한다. 먼저 국제결혼 이주여성의 이혼율을 살펴보면, 2002년 국제결혼가정의 이혼은 1,744건으로 국내 전체 이혼 144,910건에서 1.2%로 낮았지만 2005년 3.3%로 증가하였고, 2008년 9.7%, 2010년에도 9.6%를 차지하고 있다. 국제결혼 이주여성의 이혼의사를 결정하는 요인은 크게 사회경제적 특성, 부부관계 특성, 국제결혼 이주여성의 개인적 특성, 사회적 지지망 등으로 나눌 수 있다. 또한 국제결혼 이주여성이 이혼 후의 어려움으로는 경제적 문제, 심리·정서적 문제, 자녀양육 문제, 사회인식 문제(편견) 등으로 정리할 수 있다. 이에 국제결혼 이주여성의 이혼 예방 대책과 제언을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국제결혼 이주여성의 이혼을 예방하기 위해서는 부부갈등을 완화시키는 방법이 필요하다. 둘째, 국제결혼 이주여성의 인권을 위해서 국제결혼 이주여성의 시민권을 획득하기 이전에 이혼 했을 시 다른 법적장치가 필요하다. 셋째, 국제결혼 이주여성에 대한 사회적 지지망을 구성해야 한다. 넷째, 국제결혼 이주여성 한부모와 그 자녀들이 지역사회 주민들과 함께 더불어 살아갈 수 있도록 각 지방자치단체에서는 지역주민들과 어울릴 수 있는 다양한 행사와 프로그램을 마련해 이들이 한국사회로부터 고립되거나 위축되지 않도록 노력해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

These days, as migrant women who are married to Korean men are continuously on the rise, the rate of their divorces is also increasing. This phenomenon poses a serious social problem. Accordingly, this study is designed to analyze studies conducted up to now on the divorce of international migrant women in order to take a look at theoretical perspective on them. Furthermore, attempts are made to see what causes divorce and to find out the difficulties encountered in the wake of divorce. Also some suggestions are made to prevent divorce and to establish some positive policies. By and large, the major factors of migrant women's decision to seek divorce are grouped int the following: socioeconomic characteristics, husband-wife relations characteristics, migrant women's individual characteristics, social support network, etc. In addition, the difficulties facing divorced migrant women can be sorted out as follows: economic problems, psychological and emotional problems, child-raising problems, social recognition problems (prejudices), etc. Some measures for preventing divorce and suggestions are as follows: First, in order to prevent the divorce of international migrant women, there should be some ways to alleviate husband-wife conflicts. Second, when international migrant women get divorced before they become Korean citizens, there should be different legal devices. Third, a social support network for international migrant women should be in place. Fourth, local autonomous governments should organize a variety of events and programs where they can get mingled with local residents, so that they do not feel alienated or isolated from Korean society.
