유아영어교육에서 컨텐츠 기반과 문법번역식 프로그램에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 국제화, 세계화, 개방화 시대라는 특징을 보이는 현대사회에서 유아들이 이 시대에 보다 잘 적응해 나가기 위한 방법 중의 하나인 언어를 잘 익힐 수 있도록 돕기 위하여 국제공용어인 영어에 되도록 일찍 노출시킴으로써 영어를 익히고 활용할 수 있는 능력을 키워나가도록 하고, 유아영어교육의 교수방법 중에서 대표적으로 많이 활용되는 컨텐츠기반 유아영어교육 프로그램과 문법번역식 유아영어교육 프로그램에 대하여 구체적으로 살펴봄으로써 보다 효율적인 유아영어 교수법을 제안하는 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여 유아영어교육에 있어서 대표적인 교수방법으로 볼 수 있는 컨텐츠기반 프로그램과 문법번역식 프로그램에 대하여 구체적으로 살펴보았다. 즉, 유아를 위한 영어교육의 의의, 컨텐츠기반 유아영어교육 프로그램의 수업원리 및 문법번역식 유아영어교육 프로그램의 수업원리에 대하여 언어의 중요성, 영어능력의 역할, 조기 외국어교육의 특성, 영어교육기관의 특성 등을 상세하게 살펴봄으로써 유아영어교육의 대표적인 교수법이라고 볼 수 있는 컨텐츠기반 유아영어교육 프로그램과 문법번역식 유아영어교육 프로그램을 구체적으로 살피고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 국제화, 세계화, 개방화 시대라는 현대사회의 아이콘에 걸맞는 언어능력을 갖추기 위하여 국제어인 영어에 어린 시기부터 노출되는 것의 필요성을 언급하였다. 이를 위하여 유아영어교육에서 많이 활용되고 있는 교수법 중에서 컨텐츠기반 및 문법번역식 프로그램에 대하여 살펴봄으로써 유아교육현장에 보다 적합하고 효과적인 유아영어교육 프로그램에 대한 후속연구가 계속되어지기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

In this study, noted the need to equip icon worthy of internationalization, globalization and the liberalization era of modern society, language skills, what is exposed from an early age in English, Interlingua, Follow-up study of pedagogy, content-based, and grammar-translation program being used in English education from early childhood to look for the appropriate and effective than in the field of early childhood education, early childhood English education program should expect to be continued.
