영문 초록

In these modern times, many Greek myths were borrowed in the lots of Arabic poems. In fact the Greek myths were tabooed because they were regarded as the gods’ tales. In the Arabic poetry which built up on Islam believing in the Only God Allah, another gods were naturally tabooed. Meantime the first half of twenties some poets like al-Aqqad, Abu Shadi, al-Shabbi, Taha tried to introduce the Greek myths in their poems. But the full-scaled start was from the 1950’s Tammuzian poets who wrote their poems with the myths and prototypes about the death and revival. They want to express their hopes for the revival from their collapse and hopelessness through the Greek myths which have the images of the death and revival. Therefore the Tammuzian poets borrowed the partial motifs and heroic characters from the Greek myths like Sisyphus, Cerberus, Medusa, Orpheus, Persephone and so on. So for Arab poets to borrow and interpret Greek myths may be called as the literary model of the intercultural communication.
