한국교회 내에서 여성의 역할의 변천에 따른 교육적 방안 모색

국문 초록

한국교회 역사상 여성들은 복음전도에 헌신적이어서 한국교회가 질적, 양적 부흥을 가져올 수 있었다. 초기 한국교회 여성들은 사회에서의 여성들의 역할을 능가하여 여러 분야에서 선도적인 역할을 담당하였다. 그들은 교회 안에서의 교육, 의료, 선교 등 다양한 역할을 감당했을 뿐만 아니라 사회를 향해서도 동일한 역할을 하였다. 그러나 한국사회가 큰 격변을 겪은 20세기 중반기에는 여성들의 역할이 주춤하고 답보상태에 빠지게 되었다. 그러면서 초기 여성들이 교회 내에서 주체적이고 적극적인 역할을 하였던 반면, 중반기 여성들은 보조적 역할을 하는 데에 그치고 말았다. 이러한 현상은 현대에 들어 더욱 심화되어 교회는 개교회중심의 성장주의라는 이데올로기에 빠지면서 여성들에게 봉사와 전도라는 두 축을 중심으로 성장목표를 위한 보조적 역할을 하도록 하였다. 현재 한국교회 기독교인 숫자가 800만 명을 웃돌지만 계속 감소추세에 있는 상황을 살펴보면 여성들에 대한 교회의 무관심과 부당한 처우, 그리고 주요 사역활동에서의 배제 등에 그 원인이 있다고 할 수 있다. 그렇지만 한국교회가 진정한 성장을 가져오기 위해서는 반드시 여성들의 잠재되어 있는 능력과 재능에 따른 역할을 적절하게 배분하되 더욱 적극적으로 활용해야 한다. 그러기 위해서는 여성들의 사명과 그 역할에 대한 교육을 통하여 여성들이 교회 내의 섬김의 중요성을 다시금 일깨워야 한다. 성경을 통하여 면면히 말씀하시는 여성들의 역할을 크게 세 가지로 나누어 생각해 볼 수 있다. 그것은 디다케의 역할, 코이노니아의 역할, 디아코니아의 역할 등이다. 디다케는 공동체가 하나 되는 코이노니아의 상황을 창조하려는 지향성을 가지고 있고, 디아코니아는 코이노니아의 바탕을 이루는 정신이다. 이러한 셋의 관계는 연쇄적 상호성을 맺고 있다.

영문 초록

In history of Korean church, women who have devoted themselves to evangelical work have brought about revival both in quality and in quantity. Women in early Korean church surpassed women’s roles in society and performed leading role in various fields. They played not only a variety of roles such as education, medical service and mission for church but also the same roles for society. However, in the mid-20th century when the rapid changes of Korean society were happened, women's roles were faltering at a standstill. Women in the early church played independent and positive roles in the church, on the other hand, ones in the mid ended up in ancillary roles. This phenomenon has been more deepening in modern times and churches have ideology called growthism focusing on individual church, therefore, women are forced to play ancillary roles for growth target around two axises of service and propagation. Nowadays, the reasons that the number of Christians is exceeding eight million but show insistent decline are the unconcern and unfair treatment about women and the exclusion from the major ministry works. Nevertheless, Korean churches should properly distribute and make full use of the roles according to their potential talents and abilities for the true growth. To do that, women should receive education for their callings and roles and awaken importance of their serving for church. Women’s roles can be splitted into three through the Bible. They are the role of didache, koinonia and diakonia. Didache aspires toward the situation of koinonia for uniting community and diakonia is spirit to serve as the foundation for koinonia. These three relations have the series of reciprocality.
