보육교사의 반성적 저널쓰기에 나타난 반성적 사고 수준의 변화

국문 초록

본 연구는 보육교사의 반성적 저널쓰기에 나타난 반성적 사고수준의 변화를 알아보고자 양적·질적 측면에서 분석한 연구이다. 연구대상은 수도권 G어린이집 만 3, 4세, 5세 교사 6명으로 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 비교 및 실험집단 교사들의 사전검사에서 나타난 반성적 사고수준은 교수 수행을 분석하지 않고 기술적인 방식으로 사건을 평범하게 묘사하는 2수준과, 자신의 교수행위에 대한 학습자의 입장을 고려하지 않고 교수자의 관점에서만 평가하는 3수준으로 집단 간 큰 차이는 보이지 않았다. 그러나 사후검사에서 비교집단 교사들의 반성적 사고수준은 3, 4수준으로 큰 변화를 보이지 않은 반면, 실험집단 교사들의 반성적 사고수준은 복합적인 관점으로 자신의 교수적/비교수적 사건을 평가하고 학습의 특수한 상황과 맥락을 고려하며 더 나은 수행을 위한 대안을 제시하는 7수준까지 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 저널쓰기에 나타난 반성적 사고수준 변화 결과, 만 3세 교사는 초기 2수준, 중기 이후에는 4수준 로, 만 4세 교사는 초기 4수준, 중기에는 6수준, 말기에는 7수준으로 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 특히 만 5세 교사는 초기 3수준에서 6, 7수준으로 가장 높은 수준을 나타내었다. 따라서 아무리 낮은 수준의 반성적 사고를 가졌다 하더라도 교사의 반성적 저널쓰기는 반성적 사고수준을 향상시키며 그로 인해 교수방법의 변화를 이끌어내는 것을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore change of reflective thinking level appearing in reflective journal writing of nurturing teachers in quantitative and qualitative aspects. The subjects are 6 teachers in charge of 3, 4, and 5 year old children at G child care center in the capital area, and the study results are as follows: Firstly, reflective thinking levels appearing in the pre-test for teachers in control and experimental groups were level 2 in which teachers normally describe issues in an technical way without analyzing teaching performance and level 3 in which teachers evaluate students in teachers’ view without taking account in learners’ position onto teachers’ own teaching behavior, giving no significant difference between groups. However, in the post-test, teachers in the control group showed 3 and 4 levels in reflective thinking, explaining no big difference, but the reflective thinking level of teachers in the experimental group showed an improved level up to level 7 with complex viewpoints in which level teachers evaluate their own teaching/non-teaching issues, consider special situations and contexts of learning, and present alternatives for better performance. Secondly, in the results from change of reflective thinking level appearing in journal writing, it was shown that there was improvement of up to level 2 at the beginning stage and up to level 4 at the intermediate stage for teachers of 3 year old children, and improvement of up to level 4 at the beginning stage, up to level 6 at the intermediate stage, and up to level 7 at the last stage for teachers of 4 year old children. Especially, for teachers of 5 year old children, it was shown that there was most improvement of up to level 6 and 7 from level 3 at the beginning stage. Accordingly, even however low level of reflective thinking teachers might have, it was found that teachers’ reflective journal writing increased the level of reflective thinking, which eventually lead to change of teaching methods.
