국문 초록

본 연구는 영유아기 자녀를 둔 부모들의 미술교육에 대한 인식조사로, 미술교육에 대해 부모들이 기대하는 교육적 목적과 의미를 알아보고, 추후 미술교사 양성 및 교육과정에 대한 연구를 진행하는데 기초자료로 활용하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 서울·경기지역에 거주하는 영유아기 자녀를 둔 부모 104명이다. 영유아기 자녀의 미술교육에 대한 부모인식을 파악하기 위한 설문지를 개발한 후, SPSSWIN 14.0K 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 영유아들에게 미술교육이 꼭 필요하며, 미술교육의 목적을 우선적으로 창의적 표현능력을 키우는 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 부모들이 느끼는 미술교육의 어려움은 다양한 미술활동에 대한 정보부족이며, 자녀와의 미술활동 참여 경험은 지극히 제한적인 재료와 활동에 국한되어있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부모의 입장에서 미술담당 교사는 미술이라는 특정과목에 대한 전문성 뿐 아니라, 유아에 대한 일반적인 이해, 아동통제능력이 필요함을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to identify the educational purposes and meaning that parents expect of art education through a survey of the perceptions of parents whose children are in early childhood toward art education, thereby utilizing the results as basic data to conduct studies of art teacher training and curricula in the future. The subjects of this study were 104 parents who live in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas and have children in early childhood. A questionnaire for surveying the parents' perceptions of art education for their young children was developed. Then the responses were analyzed using the SPSSWIN 14.0K program. The results are as follows. First, the parents considered art education necessary for young children and perceived that the primary purpose of art education is to develop children's creative expression ability. Second, the difficulties of art education that the parents felt included lack of information about various art activities, and their experience of participation in art activities with their children was restricted to limited materials and activities. Third, as parents of children, they emphasized that art teachers should have not only professionalism in the specific subject of art but also general understanding of young children and ability to control them.
