국문 초록

국내 외 급격한 윤리환경 변화로 인해서 기업의 윤리적 행동은 생존뿐만 아니라 수익에 주요한 영향을 미치는 요인이 되었다. 조직의 윤리행동에 영향을 미치는 요인들 가운데 대표적인 문화변수로는 조직의 윤리문화와 국가문화가 있다. 조직 구성원의 윤리행동은 그가 속한 사회문화적 환경에 의해 영향을 받을 뿐만 아니라 조직의 윤리문화에도 영향을 받게 된다는 점에서 이 두 가지 요인 모두 고려할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 윤리의사결정 과정에 기업의 윤리문화 뿐만 아니라 국가문화가 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대해서 논의하고자 한다. 이때 조직 윤리행동을 Rest가 제시한 의사결정모형(Rest’s moral action model)에 근거하여 다음 네 가지 구성요소로 나누어 살펴보았다: 윤리문제 인식, 윤리판단, 윤리의도, 윤리행동. 본 연구는 지금까지의 이론적 논의를 바탕으로 다음 두 가지 명제를 제안하였다. 명제1은 국가문화는 조직윤리문화에 비해 윤리의사결정 과정의 초기단계인 윤리문제 인식과 판단 과정에 보다 큰 영향을 미칠 것이다. 명제2는 조직윤리문화는 국가문화에 비해 윤리의사결정 과정에서 윤리의도와 윤리행동 과정에 보다 큰 영향을 미칠 것이다. 끝으로 본 연구의 이론적, 실무적 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Recently turbulent changes of ethical environment reveal that corporate ethics have a severe influence on economic benefits of corporation and the organizational survival itself. Cultural factors including both organizational ethical culture and national culture are one of the most important factors influencing individuals’ ethical behavior in organization. Individuals’ ethical behavior reflected the value and beliefs of organizational ethical culture as well as socio-cultural environment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate which type of culture between national culture and organizational ethical culture has influence on the ethical decision making based on Rest’s moral action model. Rest’s model distinguishes four major components to the ethical decision-making process: ethical issue awareness, ethical judgment, ethical intent, and ethical behavior. Based on the comprehensive literature review, these researches suggest two propositions: 1) national culture has more influence on the ethical issue identification and ethical judgment than organizational ethical culture; 2) organizational ethical culture has more influence on the ethical intent and ethical behavior than national culture. Finally some theoretical and practical implementations were derived.
