영문 초록

Gongsei-ri Site was located at the south river bank of Hukchon river, Gongsei-ri, Yangpyung County. This site was excavated by Kyonggi University museum, 2005. During the excavation activities, several archaeological features such as open hearth of Neolithic Age, house structures of Bronze Age, folk tombs of Chosun dynasty were revealed. In this article, I would like to review the settlement pattern of Bronze Age because settlement pattern of the site is not only unique in shape and pattern but also place importance between North and South Han River. First, the shape of all houses in Bronze Age was rectangled. But specific structure of houses and its remain assemblages were difference on the geological distribution of Han river. For example, House No.1 was structured on ground with foundation stones, on the other hand House No.2～7 were subterranean house with no foundation stones Second, hearth systems of these houses showed a variety of house structures in style and structure. The hearth of House No.1, for instance, was constructed with stone brick making rectangled shape, however House No.2, 4, 5, and 7 had a hearth on the ground without stone bricks. Moreover, House No.3 and 6 had no any evidences about structure of hearth system. Third, subsistence economy of people occupied in the dwelling site had lived with doing agriculture and catching fish. Stone artifacts for agriculture included polished axes, semi lunar stone knives, stone sickle. As a implement of catching fish, stone weight for fishing net was also excavated on the house floor. Lastly, the age of the site is possible that people had occupied at the late of middle Bronze Age. It may be about B.C. 7～6 century because of the fact that archaeological remains like red potteries, gongyul potteries, harden Mumun potteries were belonged to around this era.
