국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 다문화 가정 유아의 학교 준비도 수준과 어머니의 양육태도를 조사하고 다문화 가정 유아의 학교 준비도 수준과 어머니의 양육태도 사이의 관계를 파악하고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 경기도에 거주하고 있는 결혼 이민자 여성 150명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사 결과 다문화 가정 유아의 초등학교 입학전 학교 준비도 수준은 전체적으로 낮은 수준을 보였다. ‘일상생활능력’이 가장 높게 나타났지만, 평균 이하의 수준이었으며 ‘정서교류능력’과 ‘단체생활태도’, ‘학습활동능력’과 같은 준비도 하위 영역은 더 낮은 수준을 보였다. 또한 다문화 가정 어머니의 양육태도 점수도 낮은 수준으로 나타났다. 다문화 가정 유아의 준비도 수준과 어머니의 양육태도와의 관계는 일반 가정의 경우와 다른 모습을 보였는데, 특히 양육태도 하위영역 중‘통제’와 학교 준비도의 정적 상관이 높은 결과가 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 다문화 가정의 유아와 어머니들이 처한 구체적인 교육적 상황에 대한 지속적ㆍ체계적인 조사, 다문화 가정의 유아와 어머니들을 위한 체계적인 교육 프로그램의 개발과 실시, 일반인에 대한 다문화 교육 지원 대상의 확대 등을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate young children’s school readiness and their mothers’ parenting attitudes from multicultural families. It was also aimed to analyze the relationship between the two variables. For the purposes, a survey study was conducted through collecting data from 150 mothers from multicultural families at Kyungki-do province. The results of study showed that the level of young children’s school readiness was very low compared to the one from ordinary families. The average score of ‘everyday life ability’ was found to be highest, but it was below 3.0. The average scores of ‘emotional exchange ability’, ‘corporative life ability’, and ‘learning activity ability’ were lower than the one of ‘everyday life ability’. In addition, the mothers’ parenting attitude score also showed very low level. The relationship between the two variables revealed a different pattern compared to the one of ordinary families. In particular, ‘control’, one of sub-constructs of parenting attitudes was highly correlated with young children’s school readiness scores. Based on the results of this study, we suggested ideas such as continuous and systematic investigation of educational state of young children and their mothers in multicultural environment, development and implementation of systematic educational programs, and expanding educational opportunities for citizen’s understanding about multicultural education.
