Literature and Language go hand in hand with each other. The French literature commands the reader’s attention in terms of its linguistic clarity as is shown in the common saying that Ce qui n’est pas clair n’est pas Francaise or that Paris n’a pas ete fait en un jour. The Huckleberry Finn reminds the reader of Shakespeare since Twain is also the master of the language as well as literature. Not until the publication of Dr. Faust is the German language recognized as such a refined and sophisticated language as to express high culture and thoughts. Twain avails himself of the crude contents of wild American pioneering life and thoughts in terms of American languages based on the American slang and vernacular. Twain ran another risk of testifying to his most favorite protagonist, Huckleberry Finn as typical pattern of the traditional status quo protagonist of American novels rafting along the Mississipi. Finn encounters various kinds of corruptions and the evils practising his poetic justice at every chance. He is lonely having no kind father usually finding him so much drunk as to fall enchanted and running after him at times attempting physical attack on him. He was at mercy of Douglas-Watson sisters who taught words and prayers helped by the kind neighbor attorney who protect him from the outside dangers. He comes across new corruptions, evils and deceptions committed by the so-called French king and noble committed by the typical American traditional families of Southern America (Grange ford and Sherperdson). He responds to this emotional challenge in an optimistic way. He neither expresses despair nor feels depression at every emotional challenge. Kidnapped in the midst of the woods he does not behave himself in a pessimistic way but enjoy the rustic walk or speculation. By day it was sunny and warm, by night he felt the moon-light cool. Encouraged by his poetic justice he wields his challenge against variety of corruptions_social, psychological and economic_scattered here and there along the Mississipi. He rafts along the river, waving star spangled banner standing for human liberty, freedom, independence, justice, and so on. One group of novels partly representing those colors suggestive of freedom and liberty as well as equality and justice involves Cooper, Twain, Hemingway, etc. These are extrovert while the other introvert. Falling modernistic literary heirs to Huckleberry Finn are those multi-prismed protagonists of those star-spangled banner group novelists.
