기혼여성의 경제활동참가율 변화의 변동 분해 : 1998-2007

국문 초록

이 연구는 1998년부터 2007년까지의 기혼여성의 경제활동참가결정에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하고, 지난 10년 동안의 경제활동참가율의 변화를 개별 설명변수(X’s)들의 변동과 설명변수에 대응하는 계수(β’s)의 변동으로 분해하여 설명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 또한 개별 변수별로 설명 변수(X’s)와 계수(β’s)의 효과를 나누어 분석하기 위하여 시뮬레이션을 통해 경제활동참가확률을 예측하였다. 즉 단순히 여성의 경제활동참가율에 어떠한 설명변수들이 정(+)의 효과를 미치는지 혹은 부(-)의 효과를 미치는지에 초점을 두는 것이 아니라 개별 설명변수들의 변동(X’s)과 계수들의 변동(β’s)이 경제활동참가율 변화에 어떻게 작용했는지 분석하고, 특히 각 변수별 한계효과가 10년간 어떻게 변하여 왔는지에 대해 설명하고자 한다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 할 때 외환위기라는 충격을 제외할 경우 변동의 방향성은 3개의 기간 모두 대부분 일치하는 모습을 보였다. 여기서 주목할 점은 비근로소득과 7∼19세 학령기 자녀 변수이다. 이 두 개별 변수는 설명 변수와 계수의 변동에 의한 효과가 모두 경제활동참가확률의 변화에 가장 큰 부(-)의 영향을 미쳤을 뿐만 아니라 그 상대적인 효과가 점점 커지고 있음을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

This paper analyzes factors which affect labor force participation decision of married women from 1998 to 2007 and intends to explain change of labor force participation rate in the last decade decomposing by individual changes in Xs and changes in βs corresponding to changes in Xs. In addition, this paper estimated the labor force participation probability through a simulation in order to analyze effects of Xs and βs with each variable. Two sub periods had directly-opposed course each other between effect by changes in Xs and one by changes in βs in each change of labor force participation rate, as a result of decomposition after dividing the last decade’s total period by two sub periods and analyzing by decomposition change of labor force participation rate of married women in the last decade with changes in Xs and changes in βs. Also, the effects by changes in Xs and βs made probability of labor force participation in the last decade increase. Total period and two sub periods’ analysis results of lengths of time almost correspond in side of direction although there are different degrees as a result of a simulation of probability of labor force participation by a double change of Xs and βs with each variable. Also, total period and two sub periods’ results was same as a whole with results of a simulation of probability of labor force participation by changes of Xs. On the one hand the results of a simulation by changes of βs have a slight difference in every period. Being based on analysis results, the course of change of all three periods is almost same in case of exception economic crisis.
