영문 초록

Inquiring the history of the life of high society in France under the Occupation means to be placed between historical studies, various representations and testimonies. Although the life of high society during World War Ⅱ has much importance to the understanding of the relation between the occupation forces and the French people, few studies have analysed this issue. Historians have hardly cared for this part of study of the society forced to remain in the extreme war situation for a long time. This study is concerned with some entangled life of the occupation forces and the French men and women. An examination of the life of high society under occupation allows us to pass over the official and repressed memory of patriotism after the war, shedding light on the relationship between the occupying and the occupied. Through various popular sources, especially those derived in the 1970’s, we can expect to approach the real aspects of the everyday life of the French society during World War Ⅱ, and thus to restitute the memory of society under enemy occupation.
