영문 초록

The purpose of this article was to examine structural characteristics of the tea sieve in Song Dynasty. This paper employed three methods to examine the literatures about tea sieve and silk for the paintings, the picture of tea sieve, and the vibrating sieve on waterwheel mill paintings in China. The results of this study found out that first of all, the tea sieve was made of rectangular and cylindrical type with small size between twelve centimeters and fifteen. In addition, it showed all the meshes of tea sieve was used closely w oven silk from Tang Dynasty through Ming. particularly, the silk for painting in Song dynasty could keep sieve's quality for a long time and improve efficiency by boiling off it. Finally, this study showed that vibrating sieves on the waterwheel mill paintings were divided into two types of treadle device operated on foot and interlocking device operated by waterpower.
