국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교실에서 교사가 유아의 입장에서 최선의 이익이 되는가 하는 유아의 관점을 살펴보고, 유아권리가 존중되는 교육을 실천하고자 하는 것이다. 이는 교사와 유아의 관계에서 유아의 권리를 존중하는 것인지에 대해 교사는 반성하고 계획하며 실천을 통한 변화를 갖고자하는 것을 의미한다. 연구자는 경기도에 소재한 Y어린이집에서 8월 4일부터 9월 30일까지 만 4, 5세 유아 10명의 권리를 찾아주기 위해 어떠한 전략이 구성되고 실천되어야 하는가를 탐색한 실행연구이다. 먼저, 교사는 유아권리 존중을 위해 문제파악 및 계획단계－계획의 실천과 변화의 과정 및 결과에 대한 관찰－과정 및 결과에 대한 반성－수정된 계획에 의한 실천과 반성의 반복을 통해 실행연구를 하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 유아와 교사는 변화하게 되었다. 교사는 매일 매순간을 반성하는 교사, 현장맥락에 바탕을 두며 실천적 지식을 구성하고자 하였다. 유아는 자신의 의견을 표현하는 수준을 넘어서서 의사결정에 적극적으로 참여하게 되었다. 그리고 유아 자신의 권리뿐만 아니라 타인의 권리를 존중하는 태도를 갖게 되었다. 이와 같이, 유아교실에서 주체가 되어야 할 존재가 누구인지, 교사는 어떤 역할을 하여야 하는지에 대한 개선과 반성적인 실천으로 유아와 교사가 서로 가르치고 배우는 관계 속에서 성장할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is how children’s teachers actively participate in their classroom to accomplish their children’s rights respect. In the relationship between teachers and their children, this means that children’s teachers should have self-reflection on what activities lead to their children’s rights respect. Also teachers should make a plan which method activate children’s rights in their classroom, and should derive some change by their real participation. To do this, we conducted the action research on 4∼5 year old children from August 4 to September 30: the selected action research field is a child care center located at Kyunggi-Do, and the target population is ten children. The purpose of action research is that what strategy should be planned and what action should be applied to find their rights in children’s classroom. The aforementioned action research was carried out by following 4 steps: (ⅰ) problem recognition for children’s rights in their teachers, and planning step to solve it, (ⅱ) conduction of its planning, observation of its changing process and its result, (ⅲ) self-reflection on its process and result, (ⅳ) retrying of the modified plan, which is reflected previous (ⅰ)∼(iii) steps, and self-reflection. Through the performed 4 steps action research, the children and their teachers could be been changed. Teachers always make an effort to have self-reflection, and try to do practical knowledge considering their field situation. Meanwhile, children actively participate in decision-making beyond simple expression of their opinion, and they also have a respectful attitude toward other’s rights as well as their own rights. This result showed that teachers and children can obtain their common growth by mutual teaching and learning in their relationship using following recognitions: (ⅰ) Who is a main a main owner in children’s classroom, (ⅱ) Which kind activities should be provided by their teachers.
