국문 초록

본 연구의 문제의식은 교육지속성에 따른 과잉학력화 현상의 특징을 명확하게 하고 교육지속성을 보이는 이들이 학문적 탐구열정에서인지 또 다른 요인이 있는지 살펴보는데서 출발한다. 연구문제는 고등교육 종료 후 교육지속성에 영향을 미치는 배경요인을 탐색하고, 교육지속성 여부를 설명해 줄 수 있는 가장 적합한 모형을 탐색하는 것이다. 교육지속성을 결정짓는 배경변수의 영향에 대해 알아보기 위해 대학원 진학과 미진학의 종속변수와 다양한 독립변수들 사이의 관계를 설명하고 주어진 독립변수의 수준에서 종속변수인 대학원 진학과 미진학을 예측하기 위해 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 출생변수 중에서는 나이변수, 가족의 문화적 변수 중에서는 부의 학력수준, 가족의 경제적 배경변수 중에서는 사회경제적 지위수준에 대한 인식이 교육지속성에 영향을 주는 변수임을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The study aims to examine the features of the widespread overeducation phenomenon according to educational continuation, and investigate whether those with such willingness to educational continuation are motivated by academic inquiry or other factors. The research question is defined in a way that explores the background determinants having an impact on the educational continuation after completing higher education, and then search for an appropriate theoretical model that explains about the educational continuation. In order to identify the effects of background variables that determine the degree of educational continuation, the author undertook a logistic regression analysis, which explains about the relations among the dependent variable of entering a graduate school or not and various independent variables, as well as predict the value for dependent variable whether the subjects continue their graduate studies or not based upon the independent variables given in the model. The analysis yields that such factors as age among birth variables, negative educational history among family cultural variables, and the perception on socioeconomic status among family economic background variables affected the educational continuation.
