국문 초록

本稿の目的は国家保勳処ホームページの＜顕忠施設情報サービス＞と国防軍事史研究所の戦跡記念物便覧集(1994年)を基に, 韓国戦争に対する記憶がどのように形成·変容されてきたのかを検討するものである. 具体的には第一に, 1948年8月15日大韓民国政府の樹立から2007年までの追悼･記念施設の建設現況を地域別の戦争経験の差に重点を置いて検討した. 第二に, 植民地期における日本軍の戦没者のための追悼施設の建設経験が韓国戦争戦没者の追悼施設の建設にどのような影響を与えたのかについて検討した. 第三に, 韓国戦争と独立運動関連の追悼･記念施設を比較検討した.韓国戦争の戦没者追悼施設と戦争記念施設は, 戦没者に対する追悼と顕彰, 戦争の正当化, 愛国心の高揚のために建設されたもので, 地域では国立墓地の機能を遂行している. 左右の対立による民間人の被害者が多い地域であればあるほど地域社会の葛藤を抑えるための手段として, 戦没者を追悼･顕彰し,戦争を正当化する追悼施設が活発に建立された. 地域社会のレベルで建設された追悼･記念施設は韓国戦争に対する認識を固定化し, これに反する記憶が噴出することを封じ込む機能を果たした.韓国戦争戦没者の追悼施設が終戦直後から速かに建設された原因の一つとして, 植民地期における日本軍の戦没者のための追悼施設の建設経験と延長 線上にあったということがあげられる. そして韓国戦争と独立運動による犠牲者は｢国家のために尊い命を捧げた人たち｣という同じ評価を受けているにもかかわらず,地域社会においては一つの空間で追悼·顕彰されなかった.

영문 초록

This study examines the formation and transformation of Korean War memories based on data from the Memorial Facilities Information Services of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and from the Institute of National Defense and Military Affairs. It consists of three parts: The first focuses on war memorials constructed during the period August 15, 1948 through 2007, with respect to regional differences of war experience. The second part examines the effects of colonial-period war memorials for Japanese war dead on the construction of Korean War memorials. The third part compares memorials of the Korean War with memorials of the independence movement. Korean War memorials were constructed for memory and mourning of war dead, justification of the war, and patriotism. In smaller communities they also assumed the role of a national cemetery. Larger numbers of war memorials were constructed to repair ideological divisions in communities that had suffered many civilian casualties. The construction of community war memorials created a lasting perception of the Korean War, and it blocked memories against it. Following the Korean War, construction of war memorials increased, having been influenced by colonial-era memorials for Japanese war dead. Although Korean War dead and independence-movement dead were both recognized as sacrificing their lives for the nation, they were not memorialized together.
