국문 초록

단어는 일반적으로 단일어와 복합어로 나뉘고, 복합어는 다시 파생어와 합성어로 나뉜다. 본고는 이러한 일반적인 단어 분류에 포함되기 어려운 조사가 단어형성에 참여한 형태를 조사결합어라 칭하고, 이들을 대상으로 그 범주와 특성을 살펴보았다. 조사는 의존적인 성격을 가지고 있기 때문에 조사결합어를 파생어로 보는 경우가 많지만 조사결합어의 조사가 파생접미사의 기준에 맞지 않기 때문에 파생어로 보기는 힘들다. 따라서 조사결합어는 합성어와 파생어와는 별도로 복합어의 한 하위 부류로 분류하는 것이 바람직하다. 조사결합어의 선행요소는 대부분 불구어근으로 조사결합에 제약을 가지고 있는데, 한 가지 혹은 소수의 조사와만 결합하여 쓰이다가 단어로 굳어진 것이다. 불구어근이 아니라도 조사결합어에 속하는 것들이 있는데 이들은 선행요소와 후행하는 조사의 의미가 아닌 제 3의 의미를 가지고 있다.

영문 초록

The word in Korean are generally classified into simple word and complex word. Complex word are then classified into compound word and derived word. But the form, which Josa is involved in word formation, doesn't belong to these classes. This paper names the form which Josa is involved in word formation as ‘Josa-combined word’, and aimed at investigating their classification and characteristics. Josa has a dependent characteristic and therefore causes ‘Josa-combined word’ to be considered as derived word. However, ‘Josa-combined word’ is not classified as derived words because Josa from ‘Josa-combined word’ does not meet the standard qualification of suffix. Therefore, ‘Josa-combined word’ should be classified as the secondary category of complex word in a separate way from compound word and derived word. The preceding elements of ‘Josa-combined word’ is a bound root that has limitation for combining Josa. It becomes the word after being used by combining one or few Josa. Besides a bound roots, there are other elements of ‘Josa-combined word’ that have third meaning, neither the meaning of Josa nor the meaning of the preceding elements.
