영문 초록

The relationship between African Traditional Religions am Christianity has become a buring question, The rapid expansion of Christianity during the twentieth century and the revival of traditional African culture in post-colonial Africa creates a context in which the relational between these two religious influences in Africa calls: for clarification, So".., think in terms of continuity and adaptation, and others in terms of discontinuity and confrontation, This is more stark even in post-apartheid South Africa, Where the new political order and mutual tolerance were ushered in white a significant contribution from religious leaders and people who adhered to various religious credo am tradition Christianity has aggressively overshadowed the role that African religious philosophy and culture can play in the continuous sustenance of peace and tolerance that post-apartheid South Africa so desperately needs, This is a basis upon which to construct for African religion and culture as well as their response to racism in the present political and cultural climate in South Africa, Other responses to apartheid South Africa's attitude to race relations and culture have been chronicled extensively, The division of South Africa's people according to race, colour and culture for the whole of their human existence was predicated upon the untenable notion of the superiority and inferiority of races, colours and culture, The process of differentiation was further exacerbated by theological argumentation advanced by the apartheid government In conclusion, The dialogue between the adherents of African traditional religion and African Christians will benefit not only the participants rut the wools African continent It will also broaden the base for similar enterprises across the Third World
