대학의 사회봉사 기능이 인지도 및 교육성과에 미치는 영향 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 대학의 기능을 본원적 기능과 파생적 기능으로 구분하고 대학의 파생적 기능으로서 대학의 사회봉사 기능을 살펴보았다. 대학의 사회봉사 기능 중에 자원봉사와 산학협력의 기능과 현황을 분석하고, 이러한 대학의 사회봉사 기능이 대학의 인지도 및 교육성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지에 대해 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 자원봉사 활동에 따른 인지도 및 교육성과에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 입학경쟁률, 신입생 충원률, 재학생 충원률에 있어 한국대학사회봉사 협의회 회원으로 가입한 대학이 미가입한 대학에 비해 높게 나타났다. 반면 자원봉사 활동이 졸업생 취업률에는 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 주고 있지 못한 것으로 분석되었다. 다음으로, 대학의 산학협력 활동이 인지도 및 교육성과에 미치는 영향을 분석해보면, 기업 인턴십 프로그램을 개설.운영하는 대학이 그렇지 않은 대학에 비해 입학경쟁률, 신입생 충원률, 재학생 충원률이 보다 높게 나타났다. 그러나 대학의 졸업생 취업률을 제고하고 대학생의 졸업 후 진로를 결 정하는 데 도움을 제공하고자 개설되는 기업 인턴십 프로그램이 정작 졸업생 취업률에는 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 주고 있지 못한 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This research divided the functions of university into two - core and derivative - and focused on the social service of university which fits into the latter. And we analyzed the functions and current status of volunteer work and industry-university cooperation which belong to the social service of the university and did regression analysis to know how the social service of university affected the recognition and educational performance of the university. The result was that the universities which was affiliated with Korean University Council for Social Service showed higher entrance competition, freshmen enrollment, and retention rate than the those which was not. However, volunteer work did not show statistically significant meaning to graduates employment rate. Next, we analyzed how industry-university cooperation affected the recognition and educational performance of the universities. As a result, the universities which offered business internship programs showed higher entrance competition, freshmen enrollment, and retention rate than the those which did not. But business internship programs which the universities provided to help to increase their graduates employment rate and to choose a career after graduation did not have an impact on employment rate.
