국문 초록

본 연구에서는 초등학교 제 7차 국어 교육과정과 교과서의 특징을 먼저 살펴보고, 그에 따른 국어 교육과정의 문제점 및 운영실태, 국어 교과서의 구성 체제에 대한 문제점을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 효율적이고 바람직한 국어 교육과정 개정 방향과 국어 교과서 구성 방식을 제시함으로써, 앞으로의 국어 교육과정 및 교과서 개정에 개선 방안을 제시함은 물론, 시사점을 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 그러나, 아무리 효율적이고 바람직한 교육과정과 교과서라 할지라도, 교육과정과 교과서가 학교 현장에 적용되어 교육 목적을 달성하기 위해서는 다음과 같은 점들이 먼저 선행되어야 한다. 첫째, 교사는 국어 교과서를 재구성할 수 있는 안목과 식견이 있어야 한다. 둘째, 텍스트 위주의 교과서가 아닌 동영상, 소리, 그림, 사진 등이 포함된 멀티미디어식 전자교과서의 도입이 필요하다. 셋째, 유⋅초⋅중⋅고등학교의 실질적인 국어 교육의 연계가 이루어지지 않은 현 실정에서, 교육과정 및 교과서 내용이 중복되지 않고, 위계성에 벗어나지 않도록 국어 교육과정을 개정할 필요가 있다. 넷째, 교육과정 및 교과서 운영에서 도출되는 문제점을 수정⋅보완하기 위해서는 정기적인 교육과정 개정이 아닌, 상시적인 교육과정 개정⋅운영이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The study presented the results of reviewing the Seventh Korean Language Curriculum and subjects for the characteristics and analyzing the curriculum and textbooks for problems & operational state and composition system respectively. Based on the analysis results, it aimed to suggest efficient and desirable revision directions of Korean language curriculum and composition methods of the textbooks and to provide some concrete improvement measure for the areas and concerned implications. However efficient and desirable curriculums and textbooks may be, their educational goals will not be attained unless the following conditions are met first; first, the teacher should have the eyes and insight to reorganize the Korean language textbooks. Second, they should introduce multimedia-based electronic textbooks containing moving images, sound, pictures, and photos beyond text-based ones. Third, it's a sad fact that there are no connections found among the practical education of Korean language from kindergarten and elementary school to middle and high school. The curriculum must be revised so that the contents won't be overlapped in the curriculum and textbooks and escape the intended hierarchy. Fourth, the curriculum should be revised all the time rather than once in a while to identify, correct, and supplement the problems with the operation of the curriculum and textbooks.
