국문 초록

본 연구는 촌락 경관을 하나의 '문화적 구성물'로 본다. 이 주제를 탐구하기 위하여 경관과 장소에 관한 선행 연구들을 토대로 촌락 경관의 삼원 구조를 이론화한 다음 민촌과 반촌적 배경의 촌락 경관을 해석ㆍ비교하는 데에 이를 적용하였다. 여기서 구상한 촌락 경관의 삼원 구조한 탁월 경관, 사회적 공간, 사회문화적 실천의 삼원소로 이루어진다. 연구자는 민촌과 반촌적 배경의 촌락을 서로 비교하는 관점에서, 이들 삼원소를 매개로 '촌락민'과 그들의 '경관과 장소'가 어떻게 교차하며 관계하는지 탐색해 보았다. 특히 연구자는 '탁월 경관과 사회적 관계의 상관성', '사회적 공간과 장소 정체성의 관계', 그리고 '사회문화적 실천과 촌락 사회의 재생산 및 변화'의 세 차원을 중심으로 두 유형의 촌락을 비교하며 이해하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the theme 'rural landscape as a cultural construct'. To approach this theme, the author proposes the triad of rural landscape which is based on preceding studies on place and landscape, and applies the triad to the interpretation of the rural landscapes of yangban(nobility)-originated settlements and those of commoner-originated settlements. The triad in this study consists of outstanding landscapes, social spaces, and socio-cultural practices. On the basis of this comparative study, the author inquires the relationships between the inhabitant and their landscapes or places in each rural settlement in terms of three components of the triad. Especially, the author tries to compare and understand the two types of settlements centering around the reciprocal relationships 'between outstanding landscapes and social relations', those 'between social spaces and place-based identities', and those 'between socion-cultural practices and the reproduction/changes of the rural society'.
