국문 초록

이 연구는 서산김씨를 사례로, 조선시대에 이들의 거주지가 공간적으로 어떻게 확산되어 왔는지 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 족보를 기초자료로 각 시기 별 이주양상을 정리하고, 이를 통해 이주 원인과 이주 거리, 이주 지역의 특징 등을 분석하는 데 연구의 초점을 맞추었다. 주요 이주 원인은 경제적인 기반의 확보, 조상 묘소의 관리, 전쟁이나 사회적 혼란을 피하기 위한 은거 등이었으며, 시기 별로 사회적 환경의 변화에 따라 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 이주 원인은 이주 거리와 장소의 선택에 중요한 영향을 미쳤다. 이주 거리는 근거리가 많았으며, 이주 지역은 처가나 외가 등 사전 정보가 충분하고 생활의 편의를 도모할 수 있을 장소로 선호하였다. 한편 출발지와 목적지가 동일한 이동경로를 보이는 연쇄이주가 많았다는 점, 적서의 구별이 이주 거리에 영향을 미쳤다는 점 등이 주목할 만하다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes how the spatial structure of the Sŏnsan Kim clan's main area of residence was expanded during the Chosŏn Period. To this end, the characteristics of the migration tool place during each period were examined in turn using basic materials family lineage records. Moreover, other factors such as reasons for migration, distance travelled, and the nature of the area in which migration took place, were also analyzed. The study found that the main reasons for migration included the need to secure an economic basis, the management of ancestral graves, and a desire to seclude oneself in order to avoid war or social chaos. To this end, periodic differences caused by changes in the social environment were ascertained. The reasons for migration were also found to influence the distance between the original dwelling and the areas to which migration occurred. Most cases of migration involved the travelling of short distances.
