영문 초록
Raloxifene. a selective estrogen receptor modulator, is well Known to be a potent anti-inflammatory agent. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying anti-inflammatory action by raloxifene are poorly understood. Here we showed that raloxifene, but not 17-β estradiol, induces expression of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), a stress-inducible enzyme with potent anti-inflammatory activity, in murine macrophages and this regulation is independent of estrogen receptor(ER).
