국문 초록

知訥(1158～1210)의 저술에는 지눌의 것이 아니라는 의문이 제기된 저술이 있다. 그러나 지금까지의 많은 연구자들은 의문이 제기되고 있는 저술을 별도로 고려하지 않고 지눌사상을 연구해 왔다. 그러나 어떤 연구도 연구에 앞서 자료의 검토가 우선 되어야 한다. 이런 점에서 지눌의 저술로 신뢰할 수 있는 자료에 의한 지눌의 사상이 연구되어야 할 것이다. 신뢰할 수 있는 저술로서는 『권수정혜결사문』『목우자수심결』『계초심학인문』『화엄론절요』『법집별행록병입사기』로서, 이에 의한 지눌사상을 정리하면, 정혜쌍수․돈오점수․선교일원이 대표적 사상이 된다. 정혜쌍수의 수행방법은 돈오점수이다. 이 경우 돈오해야 할 것은 慧修行이고, 점수해야 할 것은 定修行으로 정혜쌍수와 돈오점수가 연계관계를 갖는 수행체계를 이룬다. 禪敎一元사상은 간화경절사상과 상반되는 개념이다. 경절문은 언어와 문자를 귀히 여기지 않으며, 不立文字를 표방한 敎外別傳이 강조되고 있기 때문이다. 지금까지 지눌사상으로 논의되었던 정토사상이나 삼문체계의 선사상을 『간화결의론』이나 『원돈성불론』에 근거한 것으로 연구되는 것은 재고의 여지가 있어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

There have been brought some doubts that a few of the Jinul(知訥, 1158-1210)'s writings are not real his work. However, many scholars have studied Jinul's thought without considering texts on which there is some doubts, as yet. Before every studies, we must examine texts thoroughly on which we are going to study. In this idea, Jinul's thought has to be studied on the basis of the credible texts of Jinul. The credible works of Jinul are as follows: 『Kwonsu junghae-gyeolsa mun 勸修定慧結社文』『Moguja susim gyeol 牧牛子修心訣』『Gye chosimhag'in mun 誡初心學人文』『Hwaeom non jeoryo 華嚴論節要』『Beopjip Byeorhaeng Nok Jeoryo Byeongip Sagi 法集別行錄節要幷入私記』. The representative thoughts of Jinul on those credible works are 'practicing meditation and wisdom at a time 定慧雙修'․'sudden enlightenment and gradual cultivation 頓悟漸修'․'non-duality of meditation and teaching 禪敎一元'. The training method of 'practicing meditation and wisdom at a time 定慧雙修' is 'sudden enlightenment and gradual cultivation 頓悟漸修'. At this moment, the wisdom-practice 慧修行 corresponds to sudden enlightenment 頓悟 and the meditation-practice 定修行 to gradual cultivation 漸修. So 'practicing meditation and wisdom at a time 定慧雙修' and 'sudden enlightenment and gradual cultivation 頓悟漸修' are closely connected. The thought on non-duality of meditation and teaching 禪敎一元 is contrary to the thought on watching over the head phrase 看話徑截. The thought on watching over the head phrase 看話徑截 doesn't think much of the languages and characters. They even insist on the breakaway from characters. Then, it needs to be reconsidered that the thought on pureland and the system of three-way[三門] as Jinul's are based on 『Ganhwa gyeorui ron 看話決疑論』and 『Wondon seong bullon 圓頓成佛論』
