국문 초록

이 연구에서는 여성의 우울에 대해 대상관계와 자기침묵과의 관계를 중심으로 살펴보고, 대상관계가 자기침묵을 매개로 하여 우울에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 인천광역시와 수도권 일대에 거주하는 만 20세 이상의 성인 여성 총 363명이 대상 관계, 자기침묵, 우울을 측정하는 질문지에 응답하였다. 불성실하게 응답한 10부를 제외한 353부가 분석에 사용되었다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대상관계 하위변인은 자기침묵과 우울 간의 상관관계 모두에서 불안정 애착, 사회적 무능력, 소외와 는 유의한 정적상관을 보였으나, 자아중심성과의 상관은 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 자기침묵과 우울은 유의한 정적상관을 보였다. 둘째, 대상관계가 자기침묵에 미치는 영향이 유의미하였으며 대상관계의 하위변인 중 불안정애착, 소외, 사회적 무능력 순으로 자기침묵을 유의하게 예언하였다. 셋째. 대상관계가 우울에 미치는 영향과 자기침묵이 우울에 미치는 영향이 유의미하였다. 넷째, 자기침묵은 대상관계와 우울간의 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구 결과는 한국 여성의 우울을 설명하는 변인으로서 자기침묵을 새로이 추가하여 우울을 더욱 더 다각적으로 이해할 수 있게 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships among Korean women’s object relation, self-silencing and depression and to examine the effect of object relation level on depression with the mediation of self-silencing. The subject for this study were 363 women over 20 years old who lives in Incheon and the metropolitan area. Sample population completed OR-Inventory, Silencing-The-Self Scale(STSS) and Beck Depression Inventory(BDI).The collected data were analyzed with Pearson’s correlation, multiple regression and hierarchical multiple regression by the SPSS 12.0 program. The general characteristics and Cronbach’s α were also calculated. The major findings and results of the study are as follows. First, in case of object relation, subordinate variables such as Insecure Attachment(IA), Social Incompetences(SI), Alienation (ALN) have positive associations with both self-silencing and depression. However Egocentricity(EGC) shows no significant association. Among those, IA shows the most significant positive association. Selfsilencing and depression shows positive associations. Subordinate variables such as ‘Externalized self-perception,’ ‘Silencing the self,’ ‘Divided self’ shows significant positive association, but ‘Care as self-sacrifice’ has low-leveled positive association with depression. Second, object relation has positive influences on self-silencing. IA, ALN, SI predicts self-silencing in order, but EGC does not influence. Third, object relation and self-silencing have positive influences on depression. Specially, IA, SI (among object relation) and ‘Externalized self-perception’, ‘Divided self’ predict depression significantly. Fourth, the mediating effect of self-silencing on the relation between object relation level and depression was also examined. This study is the first one in Korea which examined the relation between object relation and self-silencing, the relation between self-silencing and depression, and the mediating effect of self-silencing between object relation and depression.
