시ㆍ군 소득의 결정과 성장요인

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국 시ㆍ군의 소득결정과 성장요인을 분석하기 위해 광역시를 제외한 163개 시ㆍ군의 1998-2002년 동안의 5개년 패널자료를 사용 지역소득 결정식을 추정하고, 지역의 성장요인을 분석했다. 추정결과, 지역소득 결정에 제조업고용자수, 주변도시의 경제력, 은행점포수 및 도로연장 등 전통적인 변수들이 모두 유의하고 높은 영향력을 가지고 있었다. 지역성장에 관한 실증분석은 전통적인 변수들의 중요성을 확인케 했지만 내생적 변수들과 기타 변수들도 성장에 매우 높은 영향을 미침을 보여주었다. 특히 특허출원수, 여행업체수 등 혁신활동과 관광소득이 지역소득 증대에 중요함을 알 수 있었다. 성장요인 분석결과, 특허출원수가 모든 지역의 성장에 매우 중요한 요인으로 나타났다. 다른 요인으로 일반시의 경우 제조업 비중이, 통합시의 경우 주변경제력이 중요한 요인으로 나타났다. 군의 성장에는 주변도시의 경제력이 시에 비해 매우 중요한 것으로 추정되었다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes regional income determination using a five-year panel of 163 Korean cities and counties for the period year of 1998-2002. Empirical results showed that all the variables representing agglomeration economies, infrastructure and financial deepening significantly affected have significant and great impacts on regional income. Furthermore, the number of patent applications, number of travel companies and share of tertiary sector all significantly affected has significant and great impact on regional growth, along with the number of travel companies and the share of tertiary sector. The relative importance of variables based on the income determination regression showeds that the number of patent applications is the most important factor of regional growth. Among the For other factors, the income growth of general cities was has been driven by manufacturing industry, and the growth of composite cities, which include rural counties, depended on neighbouring neighboring cities, while and county growth have been driven mostly by the growth of neighbouring neighboring cities.
