국문 초록

  이 연구는 임금 노동자의 고용형태 변화가 그들의 건강수준에 미치는 영향을 알아본다. 특히, 비정규직으로의 계속 고용이나 정규직에서 비정규직으로의 하락이 건강 악화에 미치는 영향을 반복측정 자료로 살펴보았다. 분석에는 한국노동패널조사자료(KLIPS: Korean Labor and Income Panel Study) 1~3차년도 및 4차년도 건강 부가조사를 사용하였다. 고용상태 등을 추출하여 최종 연구에 적용된 대상은 남성 1,207명, 여성 582명이었다. 이 연구는 이들의 고용형태를 4가지 범주로 나누고 일반화추정모형(GEE: Generalized Estimating Equation)을 적용하였다. 연령, 사회경제적 수준(동등화 가계소득, 학력수준, 직업계층, 혼인여부), 건강행동, 의료접근도를 통제하여 분석한 결과, 대상 기간(1998~2000)동안 고용형태의 변동은 건강 수준에 유의하게 악영향을 주었다. 오늘날 전지구적인 노동유연화의 결과로 고용 불안정성은 다수 노동자들의 노동조건으로 변했다. 그러나 이것이 종사상 지위나 임금, 복리후생에 대한 직접적 차이 뿐만이 아니라 건강수준의 격차까지 야기한다면 이에 대한 정책적 판단이 필요할 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

  This study looks at the influence of change in employment status on wage worker"s health outcome. Particularly, we analyzed job instabilities such as the succession of precarious worker"s status using by repeated measured data. The research object was 1st-4th wave data and 4th supplement survey data in KLIPS (Korean Laborand Income Panel Study). The sample was a total of 1,789 (1,207 male, 582 female). We categorized the respondent"s employment status into four categories, and applied GEE (Generalized Estimating Equation Model). After controlling for variables such as age, equivalized house income, education, occupational status, marital status, health behavior, and medical access, results using GEE modeling revealed that change in employment negatively influenced wage worker"s health outcome in all waves reflected by time-lag effects. Owing to labor flexibility in globalization, employment instabilities have become an unavoidable reality for contemporary workers. From our results we expect that these conditions will induce health differences, especially among the vulnerable classes. Therefore, adequate political intervention is called for.
