Lately Korea demanded another paradigm to part of urban structure and function to rising steadily population by a housing shortage, a lack of urban infrastructure and changed life pattern and so on.
According to social influence, we buckle to the urban regeneration policy to make a Special Law about urban regeneration region, but we are at an early stage that has only a loose framework by the project promotion and technical skills.
So, this study will provide basic data to urban regeneration policy focused on Japan ; early started urban regeneration from many countries, they have goals the urban renewal and revitalize the economy etc.
We can refer to the urban regeneration policy focused on Japan for our country. First, they actively use laws and ordinances for their project, second, they suggest plan and method progressively. Third, they make an effort to get a consent through the plan to making a town and a policy.
As you can see in the urban regeneration policy, this is neither Top-down nor Bottom-up planning. The central government has to adopt a citizen"s or local government"s proposals. Finally, the private sector and citizen part can participate actively in regeneration project. This has to be recognized deeply with an experts and researchers of urban regeneration field.
