영문 초록

  In recent years research on integrating English and contents has increased in elementary school classrooms in not only its quantity but also its diversity in models and contents. The purpose of this study is to look at the reported cases of integration and analyze various integration-related elements: areas of integration, adopted models, school years, effects on contents and language learning. The findings show that functional subjects are more effective for integration than other content subjects, though science and math are reported most frequently cited subjects. The most popular grade for integration was found to be fourth graders probably due to the balance of English and content complexity. Also, the study found that model of integration is gradually expanded over to experiential models and task-based models from predominantly content-based model.
