觀物과 反觀 - 자연주의적 사유의 인문주의적 기획

국문 초록

  신유학의 선구자 가운데 한 인물인 소강절의 핵심적 철학 개념인 관물에 대한 연구이다. 기존 연구가 관물을 도가적 사유의 틀로 해석하는 것에 비해서, 이 글은 관물이라는 개념 속에 함축된 새로운 유학의 기획에 주목하고 있다. 도가의 자연주의적 사유와 관물의 철학적 특징을 이해하가 위해, 장자의 심재(心齋)와 관물을 비교했다. 이를 위해 소강절의 관물을 심층적으로 분석할 목적으로, 관물과 더불어 반관(反觀)을 짚어보았다. 관물과 반관은 거의 같은 진술이며, 특히 반관을 말하면서 유학의 철학적 특성과 새로운 유학의 기획을 잘 드러내고 있다. 관물과 반관의 철학적 특성은 심재와 유사한 사유방식이라고 할 수 있지만, 관물과 반관은 유학적 사유의 특징인 인문주의를 최종적 의미로 가지고 있음을 보았다. 또한 관물과 주역의 관련에도 주목하여, 관물은 주역의 점서적(占筮的) 사유를 이법화한 것이라는 해석을 했다. 소강절의 관물론은 심재나 주역의 점(占)에서 보이는 무심(無心)과 무아(無我)의 사유인 자연주의적 사유를 인문주의적으로 해석한, 새로운 유학의 철학적 기획을 보여 주는 것임을 확인할 수 있다.

영문 초록

  This article is a study on the prehending, a core philosophical concept of Shao Kangchieh"s, who was one of the forerunners in Neo-Confucianism. Compared with established studies interpreting the prehending in the framework of Taoistic thinking, this article pays attention to the project of new Confucianism implying into the concept of so called the prehending. To stand out the philosophical characteristics between the naturalistic thinking of Taoism and the prehending, prehending is compared with the purification of mind. Thus, deeply to analyze the prehending of Shao Kangchieh"s, examining the prehending and the reflective prehending. The prehending and the reflective prehending can be regarded as almost the same statements, especially with stating the reflective prehending, which manifests the philosophical characteristics and the project of new Confucianism. The philosophical characteristics of the prehending and the reflective prehending may be considered as the similar thinkings with the purification of mind, it means that they are implying the final meaning of Confucian humanism. Also taking notice of relations between the prehending and I Ching, we interpret that the prehending is to philosophize the prognosticative thinking of I Ching. We confirm that the prehending shows the philosophical project of new Confucianism, which could interpret the naturalistic thinking, the thinking of no-mind and no-ego in the purification of mind or I Ching, with humanistic one.
