영문 초록

  I-Seo bottom trawl in Japan is the trawl fishery which focuses mainly on the fishing ground located to the north of the latitude 10°N, to the west of the longitude 121°E on South China Sea and to the north of the latitude 25°N, and to the west of East China Sea and Yellow Sea. This fishery was developing using the fishing ground exclusively around 1960s and increasing the production of ground fish.   In the 1970s, however, this fishery began to shrink as the overall fishing environments were changing rapidly. I-Seo bottom trawl fishery is the part of all bottom fisheries in Japan which target the same species. The profitability in this fishery is getting worse and the international competitiveness of this fishery is weakening since this fishery competes with Korea and China over the same fishing ground lately and the landing of this fishery is decreasing.   Furthermore, the number of fishermen is decreasing and it is getting harder to have enough labor. These aggravating fishing environments led to the increasing number of exits out of this fishery and now the fishery is standing at a turning point of life and death.   Fishermen in this fishery have been trying hard to increase the profitability by reducing the dependence on labor and increasing the added value, but it is expected that the recovery of this fishery is not easy.
