한국과 미국 고등학생의 진로결정 자율성과 영향요인 비교 분석

국문 초록

  본 연구에서는 우리나라와 미국 고등학생들의 진로의사결정에 대한 자율성에 차이가 있는 지 연구하고, 양국의 고등학생의 진로의사결정의 자율성에 영향을 미치는 요인이 무엇인지를 밝히고자 하였다. 사회적 구성주의를 이론적 틀로 삼은 본 연구는 한국과 미국의 고등학생 633명을 연구대상으로, t검증과 회귀분석기법을 적용한 실증적 분석이 실시되었다. 연구결과 미국 고등학생은 한국고등학생에 비해 진로결정 자율성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 양국 학생 모두에게 진로결정 자율성에 영향을 미치는 요인은 국적, 부모의 관여정도, 아버지의 학력과 부모의 동거 상태, 부모와의 상담여부 등으로 나타났는데, 한국의 고등학생만의 경우에는 아버지의 학력수준과 부모의 관여 정도가 진로결정 자율성에 영향을 미치는 요인인 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

  This study intends to understand the self-authorship for career decision and the factors that influence on the self-authorship in Korean and American high-school students. About one-hundred-ninety Korean students and four-hundred thirty American students in high-schools including males and females are sampled to collect the data. In order to conduct empirical analysis, statistical technique of t-test and regressions are applied.   As the result of study, it appears that American students show higher self-authorship for career decision than Korean students in high schools. The factors that influence students" self-authorship for career decision, in general, appear parents" intervention, consulting with parents, parents marriage status, father"s educational level, and nationality.   Meanwhile, the study shows that the influential factors for self-authorship are parents" intervention, marriage status, consulting with parents in American students whereas they are fathers" educational level and parents" intervention only in Korean students. This result implies that the way of parents" intervention is important to enhance self-authorship for both Korean and American students, and that Korean parents needs to pay more attention to consult and discuss with their children to make decision on their career path respecting their own decisions.
