영문 초록

Hippy and punk style giving an inspiration to many high fashion trends. The objective of this paper was to identify the internal and external symbols of hippy and punk style and to understand the developing process of them in 20th century. The significance of hippism which has analized by the social resisitance, peace and love, mysticism, naturalism, liveral sex, culture of drug-taking. The charateristic of hippy fashion style can be summerized as, ethnic style, unisex style, counterculture style, psychidelic art. As time passed, the hippie look was upgraded through the use of better quality materials and more creative accessorizing. Hippie fashion is recreated as a contemporary theme, combined with modern style has become such as Grunge, Neo-hippie, Bobos style. Punk look was symbolized as poot look, grotesque, androgynous, black, graffiti, and bricolage. And the interal meanings of these symbols are ego-screaming, expression of nihilism, resistance, irony and ridicule, search for hedonism, Also punk style transformed into mainstream fashion such as Romantic punk, Neo-punk, Cyber punk, Hybride punk. Especially, it was a tunning point of modern and postmodern period which punk and hippy style has been introduced by high fashion designers.
