국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 초등교사의 생물다양성 교육 의지에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고, 교수 효능감의 매개효과를 검증함으로써 생물다양성 교육의 효과적 실행 방안을 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 FGI연구 결과를 바탕으로 설문문항을 개발하고, 217명의 초등교사를 대상으로 실시한 예비조사를 통해 설문문항을 수정⋅보완하였다. 이 연구는 전국의 초등학교 교사 200명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 결과는 SPSS 29.0과 Amos 30.0 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였다. 기술통계치를 분석한 결과 교사들이 생물다양성 교육의 사회적 중요성을 매우 긍정적으로 인식하고 있지만, 생물다양성 교육 실행과 관련한 자신감(예: 토론 주도, 실외 활동 진행 등)은 다소 낮은 수준으로 나타났다. 또한, 초등교사의 생물다양성 피교육경험은 교육의 효과성 인식과 교수 효능감에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으며, 이러한 요인들이 교육 의지에 긍정적으로 작용하는 구조적 관계가 확인되었다. 특히, 교수 효능감은 교육의 효과성 인식과 교육 의지 간의 관계에서 중요한 매개 역할을 하였다. 이는 교사들이 생물다양성 교육의 효과성을 인식할뿐만 아니라 이를 잘 가르칠 수 있다는 자신감을 가질 때, 교육 의지가 강화된다는 점을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that influence the elementary school teachers’ willingness to teach biodiversity and to verify the mediating effect of the teaching efficacy. It further explores the effective strategies to implement the biodiversity education. Based on the results of the focus group interviews, survey items were developed, and a preliminary survey was conducted with 217 elementary school teachers to refine and improve the items. A nationwide survey was then conducted with 200 elementary school teachers, and the results were analyzed using SPSS 29.0 and Amos 30.0. The descriptive statistical analysis revealed that while the teachers recognized the social importance of the biodiversity education, their confidence in implementing it (e.g., leading discussions, conducting outdoor activities, etc.) was relatively low. Furthermore, the teachers’ prior experiences with the biodiversity education significantly influenced their perception of its effectiveness and their teaching efficacy, what contributed to their willingness to teach biodiversity. Notably, teaching efficacy played a significant mediating role in the relationship between the perceived effectiveness of the biodiversity education and willingness to teach it. This suggests that when the teachers not only recognize the importance of the biodiversity education but also feel confident in their ability to teach it effectively, their willingness to engage in that education gets enhanced.
