국문 초록

본 연구는 어린이집에서 수행된 나트륨 줄이기 교육에 대한 유아와 교사의 경험 및 교육적 의미를 탐색한 질적연구이다. 연구 대상은 경기도에 위치한 국공립 어린이집의 교사 1명과 4세 유아 20명이며 프로그램 계획, 활동 자료, 유아와 교사의 경험, 사진 및 면담자료를 범주화하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 나트륨 줄이기 교육 프로그램은 마이나슈 캐릭터와 놀이적 접근법을 활용하여 유아들의 나트륨 섭취 중요성을 이해하고 건강한 식습관 습득을 도모하였다. 유아들은 놀이와 일상생활을 통해 나트륨에 대한 지식을 습득하고, 건강한 식습관에 대한 관심을 갖게 되었다. 가정과의 연계 활동을 통해 유아들은 나트륨 줄이기를 즐거운 경험으로 받아들이며, 실생활에 적용할 수 있었다. 한편, 교사는 나트륨이라는 개념을 유아들에게 효과적으로 전달하기 위해 다양한 교육 자료와 방법을 활용하였지만, 적절한 모델이나 시각적 자료의 부족으로 어려움을 겪기도 하였다. 또한 가정과 지역사회의 협력이 부족하여 나트륨 줄이기 교육의 한계를 경험하였다. 유아의 식생활은 부모나 가정에 의해 결정되기 때문에, 식습관 관련 활동에서 가정과의 연계는 필수적이며, 지속적인 상호작용을 통해 교육적 효과를 높일 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study is a qualitative study that explores children’s and teachers’ experiences and educational implications of a sodium reduction education program implemented in a daycare center. The subjects of the study were a teacher and twenty 4-year-old children at a public daycare center located in Gyeonggi Province. The study was analyzed by categorizing program plans activity data, children’s and teachers’ experiences, photographs, and interviews data. As a results, the sodium reduction education program using the play-based approach with the ‘Mainashu’ character to help children understand the importance of sodium intake and acquire healthy eating habits. Children gained knowledge about sodium through play and daily routines and became interested in healthy eating habits. Through the play and daily activities related to home (or home-based activities), children were able to accept sodium reduction as an enjoyable experience and apply it to their real life. Meanwhile, although the teacher used various educational materials and methods to effectively convey the concept of sodium and its eating habits to the children, they still experienced difficulties due to the lack of appropriate models or visual materials. In addition, the lack of cooperation from families and the community led to the limitations of sodium reduction education and its effectiveness. Since the eating habits of young children are shaped by their parents and families, it is essential to engage with families in eating-related activities, and it is necessary to increase the educational effectiveness through continuous interaction.
