국문 초록

‘하루’를 살아간다는 것은 동시에 ‘하루’를 살아온 시간만큼 죽어간다고 할 수 있다. 이렇게 죽음을 마주하고 살아가는 우리에게 ‘어떻게 잘 살아갈 것인가’에 대한 평생교육학적인 고민은 ‘어떻게 죽음을 잘 맞이할 것인가’의 명제하고도 긴밀한 관계를 가지게 된다. 죽음에 대한 사유는 삶의 사유에 연관되기에 ‘삶’과 ‘죽음’은 하나의 유기적 관계로 볼 수 있다. 이에 죽음을 잘 준비하여 삶을 잘 마무리하는 것은 평생교육이 지향하는 삶의 중요한 과제이다. ‘자기 자신의 삶을 돌아보고, 죽음에 대한 성찰을 통해 미래를 어떻게 바라볼 것인가’에 대한 평생교육적 함의를 찾아내는 것은 성인교육에 있어 매우 유의미한 작업이다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위하여 질적연구방법인 자문화기술지의 방법을 사용하였다. 연구자의 개인적인 경험을 사회문화적인 맥락을 관련시켜 연구자의 관점과 해석으로부터의 내러티브를 기술하고 해석하였다. 삶의 경험에 대한 기술과 분석을 통해 삶과 죽음을 바라보는 삶의 경험이 Deleuze 초기시기 중심의 ‘차이와 반복’ 관점에서 연구자의 삶을 바라보며, 평생교육에서 논하는 경험학습을 근간(경험-성찰-실천)으로 하는 삶 속에서의 ‘죽음’의 의미와 맥락을 비교하여 평생학습적으로 어떠한 의미를 부여할 수 있는지를 탐구하였다.

영문 초록

Living a day is also simultaneously dying by the amount of time that has passed in that day. We dig deeper about into the question “how are the rest of our lives going to be?”. There is a tight yet hypothetical connection between how to live a good life and how to die well. Previous research of lifelong learning has shown that its focus is on life itself. However a shift of perspective is much needed, where the research topic is on the individual’s reflection of their own past life and death. This study is conducted in the following four stages. In the first stage, Deleuze’s principles of “difference" and “repetition” are introduced and overall theory of the lifelong learning is explored. In the second stage, the aim was to find the meaning of experience of reseacher. By using diagrams, the process of reflection is presented through the time-series arrangement of narratives, along with the process conducted during death preparation education. To illustrate, I used notes from the diaries of the reseacher, and also described the processes occurred from listening, watching, and experiencing others. In the final stage, qualitative research analysis is used to see what death means in comparison to life, and what life and death means in the lens of lifelong education And Gilles Deleuze. I explored how lifelong learning can be applied to give meaning to life within the context of experiential learning (experience-reflection-action), comparing it with the meaning and context of "death."
