유아교사의 문화예술교육 경험에 대한 내러티브 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아교사의 문화예술교육 경험이 유아교사의 삶에 어떤 의미가 있는지를 밝히고 이러한 경험들이 유아교육에 함의하고 시사하는 바가 무엇인지를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위한 연구문제는 유아교사의 문화예술교육 경험의 의미는 어떠한가? 이며, 연구방법으로는 본 연구의 목적에 따라 경험을 이해하는 내러티브 방법을 선정하여 세 명의 유아교사를 대상으로 5개월 동안 면담으로 진행되었다. 연구결과, 문화예술교육을 경험한 유아교사는 기존에 이루어지던 전형적인 교사교육에서 벗어나 자유로운 경험속에서 자신의 삶을 이끌었고, 유아교사로서의 주체적인 삶을 살아가고 있음이 확인되었다. 이는 실제 유아교육현장에서 문화예술교육 대상이 유아뿐 아니라 교사가 포함되어야 함을 의미하며 기관 내에서 공동체 단위로 이루어지는 문화예술교육 경험이 유아교사의 문화예술로 재생산되어 표상되는 과정 중심 문화예술교육의 중요성에 대한 논의가 필요함을 시사하는 바이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to uncover the significance of the early childhood teacher's experiences in culture arts education by exploring their past narratives in order to draw out any implications for early childhood education. The research question was as follows: What is the significance of the early childhood teachers' culture arts education experience? The research employed a narrative inquiry, with three teachers at a child care institute selected as participants. The findings from this study are as follows: As the subject of education, s/he awakened to an altruistic life, fostering a deeper understanding and empathy toward others, as well as self-awareness. At the same time, s/he forged a new identity as an early childhood teacher by integrating arts and culture education into the learning environment for young children. This study, revealed that the participating teachers were leading lives characterized by freedom and creativity, seamlessly navigating between their roles as ordinary people and educators, through their experiences with culture and art. This suggests that cultural arts education should be integrated not only into early childhood curricula for children but also into the professional development of teachers in this field. Finally, there is a need to discuss the importance and implementation process of culture arts education in real early childhood educational settings within segregated community units.
