국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 난민 청소년이 한국으로의 이주 과정에서 어떠한 경험을 하였으며, 어떻게 적응하고 살아가는지에 대하여 탐색하고, 그 경험을 바탕으로 난민 청소년의 이주 경험의 중심 의미를 도출하는 것이다. 도출된 의미의 구성요소는 ‘불안과 트라우마를 갖고 가족해체와 결합의 경험’, ‘상실감과 고국 향수’, ‘낙인’,‘ 관계 속의 갈등’, ‘인정’, ‘초국가적 삶’ 등이다. 이들은 모국을 떠나옴과 동시에 소외되며, 이주국으로부터의 배제를 경험하며 이주한 사회 속으로 완전하게 들어갈 수도 없고 다시 밖으로 나갈 수도 없는 경계의 삶을 살아간다. 연구참여자들은 ‘난민’이라는 이름으로 고단하게 살아가나, 주저앉지 않고 자신들의 내일은 지금보다 나아지리라는 조심스러운 기대에 희망을 품고 사는 ‘삼가면서 미래를 꿈꾸는 아이들’이다. 난민 청소년들의 특별한 경험과 삶의 이야기를 기술함으로써 그동안 한국 사회에서 드러나지 않았던 그들의 ‘목소리’를 통하여 난민의 삶과 꿈을 이해하고 이를 기초로 난민 청소년을 위한 사회 복지적 지원 방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study set out to explore what kind of experiences refugee adolescents had in their migration process to South Korea and how they adjusted and led a life in the country. There were total six components in the essential meanings of refugee adolescents' migration experiences: experiences of family disorganization and reunion with anxiety and trauma, sense of loss and nostalgia for the mother country, stigma, conflicts in relationships, recognition and transnational life. They were alienated the moment they left their mother countries, experiencing exclusion in the host country and starting to lead a life of not being able to make a complete entrance into the host society and move out of it. They were worn out, living in the name of "refugees”, but they refused to cave in and had hopes for their careful expectation that their tomorrow would be better than their today as "dreaming cautiously of their future.” The study promoted the understanding of their lives and dreams as refugees through their own "voices” not exposed in the South Korean society and proposed the possibilities of social welfare support measures for refugee adolescents based on them.
